Scopey (3243) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 6, 2013
Cask at CP&K. It pours darkest brown (near black) with small beige head. The nose is scortched earth, leather, roasted malt, charcoal and pepper. The taste is wood, earth, dark fruit, berry, roasted malt, toast, decent bitterness and charcoal with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A solid porter all-round.

Poured dark brown with a thick off white head. Aroma of dark chocolate and roast malt. Medium to full body, flavour is more chocolate and coffee, roast malt and a lingering dry aftertaste.

Cask handpull at Mr Foley’s, Leeds. Delicious porter, great texture, quite thick. Almost black with a light coloured head - the perfect looking pint in my opinion. Chocolate, coffee, vanilla aroma. Most enjoyable.

Cask. Dark ruby ale with a steady mid tan head. Lots and lots of chocolate on the nose. Loads more chocolate in the mouth, with a nice thin creamy texture and some coffee notes. Finish is bitter coffee espresso and a bit of stewed fruit. Delicious!

Cask at the Euston Tap - 31/10/12. Dark mahogony brown in the light bordering on a lighter shade of black with a good tan head. Good dose of roast malt on the nose, barley, light coffee tones. Tastes of roast malt, milky creamy chocolate, molasses. Very smooth feel to this beer - luxurious! Medium bodied with fine carbonation. A most enjoyable stout.
