A uniquely light and refreshing fruit beer with a crisp, clean flavor that is yellow in color. It is an easy drinking, slightly sweet beer with a blackberry flavor that is distinct, yet not overpowering. Medium light body with a medium high carbonation.

Sampled at STL Heritage Festival - Pours hazy yellow with a white head. The aroma has lots of blackberries and smooth wheat. Medium smooth body with restrained carbonation. The taste is much like the aroma with a nice amount of blackberries and it is lightly sour. The finish adds a little bit of spice. This was a nice fruit beer.

On tap at Highlands brewpub. Hazy yellow with next to no head and prominent effervescence. Aroma is very sweet with mild blackberries, yeast and malt. Taste of forced blackberries, sweet malt with a dry finish. Reminds me of those sea dog fruit beers that just arenít that good.

Draft - Berry slushy and candy like. Light gold with a good head. Like melted freezie, sweet and artificial. Much too sweet and juice like.

SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JUN 8, 2010
Sampled at the 7th Annual Parkville Microbrew Festival on April 24th, 2010. Clear golden yellow color with a white head. Pronounced blackberry aroma (Iím not sure I could tell the difference between black or rasp. Just berrified for sure). Mild in flavor, but not watery. No odd off flavors of seeds, burntness, or syrup extract sweetness. Drinkable and benign.

Pour is a pale gold with a white head. Aroma is decent with lots of berry coming out. Flavor is weaker with only a fraction of the fruit there. Its more grainy than anything. Another fruit beer that smells better than it tastes.

On tap at The Highlands Brewery. Pour is a pale gold with a white head. Aroma is decent. Flavor is ok with only a fraction of the fruit there. Its more grainy than anything. One of ten in the sampler, not bad.

Tasted 8/7/10. Sampler from the Brewpub. Mildly hazy with a pale golden hue. Trace ring of head. Aromas of berries and a slight wheatiness. Light to medium bodied with a bright palate. The berries are in the forefront, but itís backed up by a really nice vanilla sweetness. Good body and very crisp for the Summertime. Mildly lingering finish with the berry tart/sweetness lingering with the zesty base wheat beer.

Had this at their tap room Fall 2012. Not really impressed with any of their beers. Meh.

Semi-clear but a very light hazy cloudiness to this light yellow colored brew. No head and high carbonation. Aroma is all blackberry extract with a very light touch of wheat at the end. Flavor is overly strong of blackberry and carries a wheat note at the end along with a slightly sour profile. Overall the fruity note was a bit too dominate in the brew for my taste as it tasted more like blackberry essence or syrup than fruit added, so no other flavors really came through.
