The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Very zippy, nice head. Starts very, very malty and much too spicy. The maltiness is simple too aggressive and moldy. Not really drinkable and much too intense. Not good!

500 ml bottle. Reddish, dark orange body with a small, dense and lasting off-white head. Moderate aroma of sweet caramel malt and bread. Flavor is mild malt and caramel, not particular bitter. Plain, refreshing and quite nice beer, nothing really special.

Bottled:
Burned grain aroma, some hop notes. Orange to braown color, frothy head. Grainy flavor, malt, light caramel and a unpleasant bitter and burnt note in the end. Medium bodied but thin in the end. Dry finish.

Pours a orange/amber color. Aromas of malts/caramel, sweet smelling. Sweet flavors of caramel with some hops/fruit.

50cL bottle. Good looking beer, poured a clear, brown color. Good carbonation with a white head, but the head disappeared quickly. Nothing big in the flavor, good or bad. Thin flavor, watery mouthfeel but decent.

#358 Bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit cremigem Schaum. Verhalten getreidiges Aroma. Gelungen! Test vom 11.4.2011, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 12,9,12,11,10,11 - 10,90

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2009 Local beer for me. Like the rest of the Kirners weak and watery with the same aftertaste. Although this is one of thier best beers not a great beer either.

The beer in the glass is amber-colored, with a beautiful sparkling head. It smells malty bitter and hoppy-flowery, very bitter. Starts with a well balanced malt body with some caramel. The middle part shows some caramel and aroma hops. The finish is malty-bready, caramelly with a subtle hop aroma.

Abit thin, but flavor was ok, some sweetness to it, kiind of like a toned down alaskan amber. I enjoyed it still, after a trip to the Rhineland!

pours a clear amber color with an decent head. Aroma of malt, mild citrus and grass. Taste of malt sweetness, bit of grain and citrus in the background. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. fairly light body, quite smooth and a pleasant feel, although there a tinge of metal as it warms. Decent beer, nice change from all the Pils.
