Leicht herb-säuerlicher Antrunk, weich röstige Malznoten. Die Röstigkeit nimmt zu, vollmundig, wenig schokoladig. Würzig bitteres Finish. Gut! 12/10/11/11/11/11

Picked this up on bierkrug’s recommendation. First taste is a sweet, not what I was expecting from a dunkel. The color is a beautiful cloudy brown with a creamy beige head. Maltiness is predominant flavor, but very smooth and drinkable. At first I was put off, but now I’m liking it ...a lot!

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2012 500 ml bottle from Wasanas in Idar-Oberstein, Germany. Poursa apricot copper color with slightly orange tint beige head. Aroma is the sweet malty type that you find in the light colored RP Dunkles. Taste is a semi-sweet but strong malt taste. Very well made and palate is smooth as well. A very big step from Kirner and a very different direction from them. Very nice!
