1 liter bottle. It’s hazy copper with a creamy, golden and lasting head. The aroma has notes of citrus sourness, malt and caramel. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of fruit/citrus, malt, caramel and the finish is dry and slightly bitter.

On tap at the brewpub. It’s light amber in color, clear, and topped by a light beige head of fingerthick size, cute lacings left as the beer is drank. It’s sweetish on the palate, caramel and butterscotch springs to mind, but the levels of butterscotch are very low. Some fruityness, and a delicius hoppy aroma with grass, some spiced and peppery notes and a touch of green pine cones. It’s more sweet on the palate than I would like it, at least if I am to treat it like the session beer I suppose it’s meant to be. Toffee and a fruity touch too. Medium to full body, smooth carbonation. Quite long finish with a nice and crisp bitterness. Overall, a quite nice one, but too much on the sweet side. 110818

Koelschtrinker (7066) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 2, 2011

On tap. Pours a clear dark amber with a fine and frothy off-white head. The aroma has caramel and a little roasted malt. Medium body, sweetish roasted malt with a subdued hoppiness in the finish. 180810

Draft. A dark amber beer with a beutiful tan head. The aroma has notes fo hops, caramel, and straw as well as a lighter note of lemon. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, straw, and malt, leading to a dry finish, where the caramel note lingers.

Bottle 100cl. w. swing top.
Clear medium orange amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, nutty, light hoppy. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is light medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20081025]

Draught, 4.8% at the brewpub. Quite sour aroma, seems off. Dark brown colour. Stable and frothy light brown head. Fruity sourness in the flavour with some metal. Strangely enough, I can drink it, but it is by no means pleasant. Plastic aftertaste, phenolic. Bad. Off.
