COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Tegular.
Mary’s Ruby Mild is the latest addition to the Kissingate family...This is a silky smooth and slightly eccentric ale. Carefully crafted in order to capture the full flavours of an old style mild. So... lightly hopped but certainly not weak. Treat with the greatest respect.

Cask (gravity dispense) at Pigs Ear Beer Festival, day 3 on 2 December 2010. More copper than ruby. Good condition. Obviously aiming for a Sarah Hughes Ruby type feel. It succeeds to an extent. There’s definitely some berry fruit here. And it does undeniably have more presence than a "normal" mild. But I didn’t really find as much depth of flavour I was hoping for in a beer of this strength. I know it’s a mild but strong and easygoing doesn’t really do it for me. Pleasant but underwhelming.

Cask (gravity) @ 27th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2010, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England.

Clear dark to medium amber brown colour with a small average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, berry, light hoppy, alcohol - phenol notes. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is flat. [20101202]

Pigs Ear. Clear dark brown beer. No real head. Semi dry palate, zero carbonation. Sweetish toffee malt with some tangy orange. Reasonably balanced. Npt bad - livens the palate.
