COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish.

English. A deep copper coloured IPA with a distinct bitternes. Dry, but quite malty body with a hint of caramel and a rich, fruity hop aroma and flavour. Think a maltier and bolder version of the new classic Kissmeyer Pale Ale!

500ml bottle, dark amber color, with a thick pillowy beige head, nice biscuity, toasty, caramel malt, toffee nose, with a light brown sugar, french toast, graham cracker, dark dried fruit note, with a faint floral candied orange peel, leafy, grassy hop accent in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, mild bready, toasted, caramelized, biscuity, roasted malt, crunchy grainy rye cereal character, with a faint tired flowery old tobacco leafy hoppy, coffee flavour, with a burnt bran muffin, toffeeish backbone, leading towards a light sweet biscuity, toasted maltiness, toffeeish, faint peppery, leafy, grassy hop bittering finish. I think in this one, the hops are a bit tired.

50 cl.

500ml bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika. Firm beige head, spotty lacing. Dark apricot coloured body. Rather restrained aroma of earthy malts and dark fruits. Packed with red oranges developing into a marmalade taste profile that includes hints of chocolate sweetness. Dark fruit bitter ending. Well balanced and tasty (hotel room, Oslo 15.09.2012).

[bottle--thanks, probstblueribbon] Creamy, potent scotch tape and faint cat piss hops aroma, notes of apricot and toasty barley. Deep brownish amber under a rocky, lasting tan blanket. Toasty caramel malt flavour with some chocolate and vanilla and all along, assertive citrus and tropical fruit hops. Moderate bitterness leaves the balance on the sweet side, but a smooth drink and not cloying. Medium body, medium to high carbonation, moderate bitterness lingers.

Tasted @home on 03/08/2012. Pours bright brown with a small gead which dissapears quickly. Aroma is medium, mostly malt sweetness, with notes of bread, a bit citrus and blackcurrant. Taste doesnt have that malty sweetness, still having massive malt notes combined with some peachy and citrus characters. Aftertaste is quite fast and has a solid hop bitterness in it. With medium body and soft carbonation this beer is easily drinkable, good IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sigmund (4811) - Tau, NORWAY - AUG 3, 2012
On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Deep reddish brown colour, moderate creamy off-white head. Pleasant aroma of fruity hops, hints of blackberries and pine, with a subdued but complex malt profile in the background. The flavour has first a broad malt profile with some toasted and mildly roasted notes, a hint of chocolate, but the beer is not very sweet. Then the hops take over, with fruity and mildly resinous notes, and a moderate bitterness in the finish. Decent beer.
