English: Heavily hopped with 50 % US and 50 % NZ hops, for a dry, clean and intensely fruity DIPA. The explosion of citrus, passion fruit, peach and apricot flavors wraps the intense hop bitternes in a highly seductive way. Think ’This is my idea of the ideal fruit bowl!’

(21.0 % P, 9.0 % ABV (first batch at Sigtuna), 100 IBU, Colour ~ 15 - 20 EBC).

On tap at the Craft Beer Co, Clerkenwell (Dec ’11), served in a half pint ’tulip’ style glass. Light orange to gold in colour, clear and with minimal head and lacing. Hoppy aroma and with emphasis on citrus notes, particularly grapefruit. Not the strongest teasting of double IPA’s, and not overly bitter/high IBU, but distinct citrus tang, as with the smell, predominately grapefruit. Mouthfeel - tart, refreshing, dry-ish aftertaste.

Draft from Whole Foods. Very good fruity, floral aroma - sweet with a little fresh bread, caramel, and whiskey. Clear, shiny amber pour with a good amount of froth. Rich and hoppy, but not harsh. It seemed like there were some English and/or German hops in here, but the deScription says the hops were from America and New Zealand. There is a pleasant, lingering pith/rye bitterness on the palate. It doesn’t really go down like an imperial. A good brew, but not worth the $20 per liter it was selling for.

Draft at Mugs Alehouse. Not much on the nose, A little sweet on the palate, thin mouth feel, perhaps some butterscotch with a bitter finish, not a huge fan of this one, would like to taste more hops.

Keg. Deep hazy amber color with a medium off-white head. The aroma’s of pine wood, lemon, sweet fruits. The taste is bitter, fresh, some acid. Nice. A little hot. Full body, nice full carbonation. Overall, pretty nice DIPA.

Keg at CBC, London. Pours a lightly hazy, amber-brown with a foamy head. Poopey fruit, berries in the aroma, some pine, caramel. Very sweet flavor, toasty malts, bread, toasty sugar, light pine and ripe citrus. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming and sticky finish, more caramel, mild pine, fruits. OK beer. A little odd but decent overall.

Pours cloudy copper colour with small head. Aroma of lots and lots of fruits, apricot and orange peel, mild caramel and light syrup. Flavour of apricot, orange, caramel and distant syrup. Nice, but a bit too sweet.

On tap at Ølfestival 2011. A small, dense, off-white head sits on top of a clear, amber body. Canned tropical fruits mix, some alcohol, resin and pine cones on the quite sweetish nose. Sweet and fruity flavor with a decent bitterness. Well, I would like more bitterness, but there’s at least enough to prevent it from being unbalanced towards sweetness. Full-bodied, sweetish and pleasantly carbonated. Bitter and fruity finish. A decent beer, but a bit strange and boring. 110527
