COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: Previously called ’Kissmeyer West Coast Pale Ale’

English: Dry, crisp, medium malty body, medium smooth bitternes, big, fruity hop aroma and flavour. Think a bolder and more aromatic version of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

(13.3 % P, 6.0 % ABV, 35 IBU, Colour 20 – 25 EBC).

Bottle. Large bubbly beige like head that mostly lasted. Fair display of lacework. Cloudy golden/amber color. Aroma of preach, passion fruit, pineapple, light toffee. Quite hoppy fruity aroma and mouthful. The aroma is right up there with Sierra Nevada in my opinion, but the body is a bit too thin. Light to medium bodied with an average carbonation and light oily dry texture. Light to moderated bitter and sweet flavor. Gets a little bit of that liquorish like finis from the hops.

Pours cloudy pale amber colour with light and lasting head. Aroma of pine needles, mild fruits and grass. Flavour of apricot, metallic grass and mild pine needle notes. Reminds me a bit of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

On tap at Ølfestival 2011. A slightly unclear beer, amber in color and with a dense, finger-thick off-white head. Sweetish maltyness, pale malts, and some resins on the nose. The flavor is fruity and piney with pale malts in the back. Some bitterness shows up towards the end, but not enough I think. Medium body. Overall, a decent, drinkable beer, smooth on the palate, but not superb in any way. 110527

Bottle from Bier Koning. Solo hungover tasting in my hotel room! Hazy amber beer, little white head. Light fluffy dry palate. Quite a lot of pale malt and not too much hop. What hop there is a pleasantly fresh orange. Not bad but somewhat out of kilter.

A clear orange/amber colored beer, with a thick foamy light beige head. The aroma of sweet fruits with hop bitters. The taste is a little watery, some bitter hops with fruits like orange and citrus. The aftertaste has some bitter and sweets.

UPDATED: MAY 3, 2014 Hazy in appearance with an excellent, juicy hop aroma. The flavor is very much what a great APA is supposed to be, great hoppiness mixed with a good maltiness and a juiciness that balances the dryness. Overall this was slightly more bitter than other APAs, giving this a bit of uniqueness to complement the rest, making this among the best APAs.

Bottle. Pours a clear pale orange with a light brown head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has a good amount of grass hops with just a bit of grapefruit. Flavor has a good amount of grapefruit backed by some grass and a bit of a bread backbone.
