COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

0.5 l bottle. Amber color. Very bready (rye cracker) aroma with tropical fruity alcohol. Sweet bready flavor with raisins. Nice original rye cracker taste.

Bottle, bought @ Bierzwerg.de. Pours coppery amber with a small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma has walnuts, caramel, hazel, soft grassy. Low to medium carbonation, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has lots of nuts, actually a bit of yeast, doughy and caramel malts that finish dry and toasted. Actually quite lovely bitter in the end.

Sorry for the german rating, but this is a lousy rating from my "newbie" time (2007-2009), and it’s not worth of being translated. I just added it for the statistics, and to complete my backlog!

Bottle by 05.10.12. Nose malt and suppressed hops, with a great earthy roast and sticky fruit. Pretty amber body with a fizzy tan head. Taste is stikcy and lightly sweet, heavily malt-forward, rich and complex. Great fruit presence, cherry and peach, red berries, toffee, light sherry, very low grape (which is a principle Bock descriptor for me). Full, fat body is a little flatter than most lagers, but the malt layers are deep and smooth. Caramel late, smooth and very jammy, with very very well-integrated alcohol. Probably a little too much diacetly, but that’s never bothered me, and associations benefit the mouthfeel. I’d love the recipe/pricess for homebrewing, and methinks it’s a little underrated here.

Bottled 50cl. Ordered from www.bierzwerg.de. It pours a clear amber beer with a tall, nicely remaining creamy light biege head. Strong, impressive inviting nose which is reminiscent of boletus, raisins, icelandic moss, fudge and demerara. Full bodied. Very sweet. Slightly warming on the swallow. Good bitterness. Lovely luscious malt profile. Caramel throughout. Licorice in the finish which is dryish, woody. Deeply pleasant.

Stale aroma has mashed peas. Flavour is really bready with lots of malt. Also some peas and glue. A bit weird and not your typical DP.

50 cl bottle. Thanks Timo A.
Pours clear rosehip red colour with minimal head. Aroma of sweetish caramel malts, grain, grass, nettle and some herbs. Flavour of very stuffy and rich bready malts, caramel, flour, mild toffee and earth notes. Very rich in flavour, simply put, liquid bread.

Bottle looks really, really good. Beer in the glass brownish, no head, quite oily. Starts very complex and spicy, sweet, oily. Much too unbalanced. Modest dry, not very drinkable. No, I dont like this beer.

The color is dark red amber and the head is creamy, white and lasting. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, nuts, cocoa, fruit and caramel – it’s slightly vinous. The sweet flavour has the same notes as the aroma, and it’s well-balanced and nice, and the finish is slightly dry.

Test vom 28.6.2009, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 9,10,11,11,11,11 - 10,65
