COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Kyotos first local beer in 1995. It has a good aroma, and is crisp and rich. We have used our own Fushimi water, and Seishu sake yeast for a slight sake-like aroma in this mellow, pale-gold beer.

Bottle. Golden color, small head. Malty, somewhat fruity aroma. Bad vegtable flavor, some corn and a rather weak finish.

On draught at the brewpub. Well yes. I have no idea what a sake yeast is supposed to do to a mainly barley beer but this might be it. I think that odd set of backtastes in an otherwise pleasant enough thinnish blonde ale is likely to be what happens when you use a specialist yeast to make omething in which it does not specialise.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear pale yellow, brief head. Fruity/ricey nose. Sweetish with plenty of green apples and rice. Well rounded light body and a tingle of alcohol. While the rice may be quite nice the green apples are not.

On tap at the brewpub. Pale yellow color. Thin, light flavor of sake yeast, with a light fruitiness, mostly green apples. Dry finish from sake yeast. Light and slightly fruity, a bit of interest from the sake yeast, but not much to offer.
