a nice rich coffee and vanilla aroma with hints of malty sweetness. a nice medium body with rich maltiness and coffee flavors. The finish is dry and clean with a bit of vanilla and more coffee that lingers.

22oz. Apparently is now named the ’Backroad Vanilla Porter’ with a much different looking label. I’ll change the name here in a second. As for the beer: big vanilla’d nose, hints of sweet roasty malts as well. Flavors are well blended notes of vanilla, and soft notes of coffee, roast, and bitter hops. Smooth, could be a bit louder.

Vanilla is the overpowering taste. Not very balanced very lite roasted notes. Better vanilla porters out there.

HQT Night. Growler. Holy vanilla! Over kill. This beer had lots of potential, but just didn’t live up. I’ll try it again, as it was complex and had alot going. Just a bit thin and over hyped. Perhaps the next batch... Still... if you like porter, with some sweet hints... go for it.

Dark brown pour with an off-white head. The aroma is full of roasted malt and chocolate. The vanilla comes through in the flavor and compliments the chocolate notes. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Serving: from bottle--purchased at Made in Oregon. Aroma: light pumpernickel and vanilla aroma. Appearance: average-sized, creamy, light-brown, initial head with fair lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Dark reddish-brown body. Taste: light acidic initial flavor and moderately sweet toasted bread and vanilla finish with long duration. Palate: medium-to heavy body with oily texture and soft carbonation. Overall: this is an outstanding porter. Great aroma with a flavor to match. I’d like to try it from the tap.

(22oz bottle) Pours a mahogany body with a small beige head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, and caramel. Flavor of vanilla, nougat, chocolate, sassafras, coffee, and roasted malt.

From bottle. Black with tan head. Aroma of dark toasty malts, chocolate, and hint of vanilla. Vanilla is much more prevalent in the flavor, fitting nicely with the dark chocolate and roastiness. Finishes sweet and lingers on the palate.

Bottle- pours out pitch black. Nose of vanilla and chocolate. Taste of vanilla prevails throughout. Creamy chocolate and coffee undertones. Tasty beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
