22oz Bottle. The pour was a muddy jet black with an average (1-2 finger) light brown frothy head that reduced to a scattered film and medium collar with good spotty lacing. The aroma was of burnt malts, light resin hops and a leathery yeast with notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and a touch of smoke. The taste was lightly malty sweet with a bit of vanilla at first, and then a bold bitter roastiness settled in along with hints of chocolate, coffee and a touch of smoke towards the end. The flavor lasted an average time after the swallow with a bitter coffee taste left lying on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was a few steps past medium in body with a dry, oily texture and a soft carbonation. Overall this was a robustly tasty Porter, with a strong vanilla presence that you could actually taste for a change. It also offered a good balance of flavors with a smooth and easy drinkability...

Bomber in Portland. Roasted malt aroma with chocolate, vanilla and a bit of coffee. Pours black with a thin light brown head with decent retention and some lacing. Starts with good roasted malt flavors with chocolate sweetness added in. Finishes really smooth with a nice bit of vanilla and a touch of coffee. Nice vanilla porter.

Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Looks like a porter. A quirky aroma. Dark dry chocolate. The flavor is full of chocolate with lesser vanilla. Then I taste coffee and that is where the quirkiness comes in. The coffee just doesn’t rock the vanilla like chocolate does. Lots of earth here along with the bitter coffee and chocolate. I wouldn’t mind seeing more vanilla pop up. Later some citrus that featured oranges emerged. I love me some vanilla porter. However, I couldn’t get into this one. That coffee and bitterness just didn’t work.

Not too portery in taste. The initial taste is vanilla, the finish is chocolate. Now if they can add strawberry, it would be a 4.5

Bomber from Roth’s. Black in color. Nose is roasty with a bit of sweetness. Sweet vanilla up front with a bit of roast. Very strong on the vanilla throughout with a bit of burnt coffee in the finish. The strong vanilla is balanced by the bitter roasty finish.

Pours a half finger of head on a black body. The aroma is muted vanilla, roasted malt and coffee. The taste has a background bitterness, cream, vanilla and roasted malt. The texture is soft, slight fizz, but still creamy. Great.. The taste is a bit off balance with the bitterness, but the texture is excellent.

Thanks Diana for sending. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a pure dark brown color with a slim film of an off-white to white head with some bubbles here and there as what is of there just glimmers and settles. The smell started off with a light roast leading to a semi - sweet /smooth chocolate. Vanilla seems to balance. The taste was slightly roasty and semi - sweet letting the vanilla enter in nicely. Slight roasted coffee and vanilla - esque quality is in the aftertaste. The finish is slightly dry. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Low carbonation leads to a decent smoothness rolling over my tongue. Overall, I say this was a decent porter. Everything’s balanced. I’d probably have it again.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a smallish tan head on there. Nose is pretty heavy with the vanilla, and moderate amounts of roasting complementing the vanilla. Taste is a bit sweet and skewed too heavily towards the vanilla for my tastes.

would likely be small in body without the vanilla, but as is it smooths things out quite nicely and leaves this a lightly roasted vanilla cream ale that went down easy. likely their best.
