bonkiedeaap (364) - Leerdam, NETHERLANDS - JAN 31, 2015
Bottle from Bert’s Bierhuis in Utrecht. The beer is hazy dark brown colored and pours a large and cream colored head, with a lot of carbonation. The aroma starts sweet with tones of caramel, overripe dark fruits and licorice to change in a bitterness with tones of spices and a nipt of alcohol. The taste is light sweet with tones of ripe fruits to change into a light bitterness with some tones of the spices. The finish is light bitter and some warming alcohol is noticable. Very decent brew from my country but a little expensive.

Very interesting beer. It is too sweet for me, let’s start there. Powdered chocolate, some strawberry. Powdery dry finish. Interesting!

33 cl bottle @ Timo A.
Pours dark mahogany color with a small head. Dark fruits on the nose, some wood, maybe even some bourbon-y notes too, very nice aroma. Caramel malts and bread on the flavor, slight red wine notes, some molasses too. Quite interesting brew I must say. Good.

Bottle. Dark brown color. caramelly, soft rosty herbal aroma. Malty sweet, spicy roasty flavor. Slightly alcoholic. Anis. The spices are fairly well integrated, but this beer is not optimally balanced.

Borresteijn (5134) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - APR 12, 2014
33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Dark brown colour, beige head. Aroma of brown sugar, burnt caramel, dark fruits, raisins. Flavour is medium-sweet, brown sugar, dark fruits, hint of roast and liquorice, molasses, light-bitter finish. Full-bodied, light alcoholic. Nice, but could do with a bit more depth of flavour.
