Commercial Description:
Smooth, lightly hopped with East Kent Goldings, this beer has enough body to tantalize those who enjoy a little maltiness in their beer, yet simple enough to be palatable to the average beer drinker.

Light copper colour. Macro-ish aroma of caramel, metals, and slight stale grassy hops. Light body, almost no flavour save a hint of caramel. Worse than I remembered it, and my memories weren't fond.

Bottle (341ml). Oh boy, cream ale ... well, it’s a rating. Poured a clear brassy gold with an average creamy-rocky white head. Aroma of straw, grain and a bit of honey - light yet harsh but I’ll give it 5 because it doesn’t smell like a Delmonte product. Tastes the same - grainy, sweet, yes a little harsh, but it reminds me of slightly sweeter old style Canadian ales - not that that’s a particularly good thing, but yer Dad would probably like this one. Mouthfeel is almost stingingly sharp, a little too bitter - leaves a slightly harsh bitter aftertaste. Beats Blue.

Toronto Festival of Beer - 2000. Nice, but not the best cream ale I have had. will try again to give it a better sampling.

(Bttle) Deep amber body and a medium, white head. Nose of vanilla and apples. Nice texture and carmel malt taste. Smooth finish. Average at best.

Bottle. Sigh, a Cream Ale, these are never good. Pours a clear copper with a large semi-lasting foamy white head. Typical average and boring grainy aroma with a faint hint of hops. Flavour’s a tad better as it actually has a bit of taste, there’s some mild hops, grain and caramel malt -- it’s still very watery and bland though. The aftertaste is kind of unpleasant. Light bodied. This isn’t very good at all.

Sweet, grassy aroma, amber, medium vanilla head. Very malty, some bitterness, fruit aftertaste(apples?) Smooth, good balance, fair.

I’m not fond of cream ales, as I find the term gimmicky (in these parts anyways), and this does nothing to change that view. Darker than a standard lager, but lighter than a good brown ale. No distinct aroma and just nothing much to talk about in the flavour profile – obviously a slight malty taste but I am reaching for something to say – I just won’t be reaching for another one of these.
