COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is copper in color and lightly carbonated. A complex, fruity bouquet and a full malt body, our Pale Ale is balanced with an assertive Fuggels bittering hop. The Premium Pale Ale concludes with a long, hoppy, bittersweet finish

Malt-accented. Altogether uncompelling, just like the rest of KLB’s beers.

Clear copper, with British-style hop aroma. Nice bitter flavor with moderate malt complement. Nice on the tongue, goes down bitter.

Pale golden pour with a tight creamy white head. The aroma is light and a little bit fruity. Softly zesty with a nice light berry flavour. Medium- bodied and a little bit of earthy bitterness. Simple, quaffable pint. Seems to get a bit sweeter as it warms up.

Cask at Volo CaskFest 2008. Some hop aroma and grapefruit taste. Light mouthfeel. Minimum crown head on grapefruit colour. Not too bitter, significant caramel.

Fine flowery hop bitterness balanced with fruity malt…Introduced to me as heavy stuff by their people…A bit exaggerated would be an understatement...

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2008 2008-10-17. Murky yellow orange body is near headless. Messed aroma, unpleasant tea notes, earthy hops, cheese???? Pure chewy hops, chunky, astringent tea flavour. I’m not drinking more. Last of the cask or maybe it got shaken up or something but this was not lovely. Average plus palate has an awful lot of floaties. 5/2/2/3/ 7 Cask @ Volo Cask Days 2008

Toronto Festival of Beer 2001 - nicely hoppy and bitter. A bit darker than I remember the bottled version being, but that could be my imagination, who knows. 6/3/7/3/15 - 3.4

Bottle courtesy of matt7215. Pours copper with an off white head. Smells of light citrus, spice, caramel. Tastes citrussy and peppery with a tea like finish.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2008 cask at Volo
Appearance: Flaky sediment on hazed amber look , small rocky top.
Nose: Bit funk on top , vanilla-cheesy nose with hop side , hint of spice. 4-
Flavor/Palate : Strong earthy , soil like feel. Raw potatoes peel , muted hop presence. Bitter tea like finish. Poor.

Bottle (341ml). Amber with a smallish creamy diminishing head. Harshly grainy crappy aroma, I guess that’s the UK hops, but smells mostly like tucchus to me. The UK hops come through better in the taste - this is still harsh, with a weird harsh sweetness that wipes out the initial pleasant hop/grain balance - mouthfeel is harsh, lighgtly carbonated, bitter with a nasty aftertaste - I remember this being better, shame on you, Amsterdam - how can their "cream ale" be better than their pale?

Bottle. Pours a clear sparkling dark gold with a spare diminishing off-white head. Mild aroma of grain, malt and very light hops, yup that smells like a mediocre Canadian Ale. Flavour’s pretty much the same but it’s a little better as it at least has some bitterness to it and a touch of alcohol added to to give it a bit of a kick. Thin bodied. Nothing special but it’s not bad and it’s drinkable.
