Very dark opaque brown beer qith a weak head. Smell is very subtle coal fire smoked. Taste is sweetish fleshy smoked.Very watery, slightly sour finish and mainly just smoke. Indeed a smokey lager - you get exactly that. Pity there’s nothing to balance the smokeyness and make it more interesting.

330 ml bottle into a tulip glass. ABV 5.1% Dark brown colour, murky body. In spite of my violent pour it gave me only a thin line of off-white head, with low retention, leaving just hints of lacing around the glass. Aroma is light smoke, roasted malts. Taste follows the aroma, roasted malts with touches of smoke, hints of noble hops. Light bitterness on the aftertaste. Thin body with low carbonation. Mildly dry palate. Overall nothing to write home about, but it could replace the everyday lagers easily. Otherwise, pass.

Bottle. Pours a dark auburn brown with not much of a head at all. Aroma is smoky and bready. The dunkel underneath the smoke shines through. Taste is smoke, quite a bit of the dunkel breadiness and slight dark fruitiness. Turns a bit wooden on the finish. Light, not much carbonation. Decent.

ChrisO’s Pre GBBF ’Are You Scottish?’ tasting. Light brown beer, very hazy. No real head. Light dried fruits. Obvious smoke, not acrid. Light fruity finish, dry. Not bad.
