Damn pricey slightly reduced due to a sale. 750ml. Corked and caged. from holiday wine cellar in escondido, ca. Pours blackish brown with a tan ring. Nose is sweet and not much on the malt side. Taste is sweet and cloying and pretty damn awful. 9 style percentage. Big fucking surprise, this ain’t worth -100% of its cost.

Bottled: Coffee aroma, dried fruits, some chocolate, sourly fruit notes. Black color, foamy, beige head. Flavor is malty, fresh, light sweet. Notes of alcohol, "´barley wine", dark chocolate and coffee. Chocolate bitter finish. Very pleasant drinkable!

Bottle. Nr. 600. The Imperial Russian Stout has the sweet smell of malt, the strong aroma of coffee and some hints of fruits. The head is brown, medium large and foamy. The body is black. The first taste is a little bit bitter, then it gets a little bit sweeter. Dark chocolate and coffee are dominant. The duration is medium. The beer is creamy and a little bit dry, it has a medium to strong body and quite a lot of carbonation. I like this one!

25 oz bottle. Pours a clear dark brown body with a very minimal head that completely vanished. The nose is very heavy on the licorice with less roasted malt than expected. Some leafy hops, candied fruits, and chocolate. Very sweet flavor with lots of dark fruits, heavy licorice, and burnt malt. Noticeable, but not overwhelming alcohol. Not a whole lot of complexity here. Full bodied and thick with an oily texture and nice soft carbonation. This really tastes more like a Baltic Porter than an Imperial Stout.

Courtesy of Fonefan. It’s transparent black/brown with a red hue and a creamy head. The aroma has sweetness and notes of roasted malt, cocoa, coffee and it’s kind of perfumed. The flavour has sweetness, notes of dark fruit, dryness, roasted malt, sweet coffee, licorice and even if it isn’t very complex, the harmony is nice.

(Bottle thanks to Porter-Otto and Åsa) Pours dark brown with creamy nougat colored head. The aroma is lemony acidic, woody, toasted, mild chocolaty and light caramelly with hints of mushrooms and some light burned notes. The flavour is woody with tones of moldy basement, cheese and horse blanket. Malty undertones of toast, caramel and milk chocolate. The mouthfeel is well carbonated yet creamy. Light bitter and metallic. Medium bodied.

Courtesy of ibrew2or3. Pours light blackish/reddish with beige head. Aroma is fruity, dark cherries. Taste is very sweet, dark fruits (cherries), this one is loaded with alcohol, some roastiness and very light hoppy touch. Few tiny sediments. A different type of RIS, loaded with fruits. Very drinkable.
