Bottle:   Deep brown, moderate to large frothy sandy head, fairly nice lacing.   Very faint roasted character.   A touch of musty or basement funked like dark pitted fruit, very minor.   Very much a Belgian flair on the tongue, lots of musty and basement like malty characteristics.   Not all that roasty, but has a strong toasted malt base.   Seems more of a weak Belgian Dubbel than a Porter in that its not all that robust.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Very dusty finish.   Weak Porter crossed with a weak Dubbel.   Nothing off about it, but its not terribly Porterish.

Donker bruin tot zwart van kleur met een forse licht bruine kop. Smaak is niet mijn ding: licht zoet met hinten van koffie en vooral bitter zurig. Afdronk wat waterig Aldus Huubs. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Vlack beer with quite a lot of yeast floating around and column carbonation. Generous and persistent frothy greyish-brown head. Leather coffee smell with white pepper and citric yeastiness. Bitter, terribly bitter. And salty. With subtle fruitiness. Bit too uncompromisingly bitter for me.

Bottle from De Bierkoning, Amsterdam. dark brown, with a short-lived, off-white head. Sweetish aroma of caramel, milk chocolate and roasted malts. Flavour had plenty more caramel, some fruits and a bitter finish. Good.

Pours a deep dark brown with a large lasting tan head. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, espresso and some cacao , and some dark fruity esters, plums. Taste is dominated by roasted caramel malt, espresso and a cacao flavor, with some yeast and light bitterness. Palate is a medium to full body and flavor with good carbonation. Finish is sweet roasted caramel malt, espresso, cacao with some dark fruity notes ending with some good bitter hops for balance. Overall a good and enjoyable porter.
