Ruby brown...amber head with nice lace. Malt, hay and grain aroma. Dark malt, smoke, molassas, tea, cola, Brazil nuts, burnt toast. Different...certainly full bodied given the relatively low abv. Somewhat mineral and burnt malt finish.

Bottle 33cl from Bert’s Bierhuis. Blackish brown beer. Toasted malts in the aroma. Little stronger toasted malts in the taste. Pretty ok, only not my favourite beer style.

Pours an amber color with a tan head. Aroma is fruity, raisins, chocolate, some roast, plum, and some alcohol. Flavor is caramel, plum, roast, some smoky notes, chocolate, and a bitter roasty finish.

Bottle. Blackish brown beer with a strongish head. The aroma is lightly roasted, and the flavour is fairly roasted, bitter and to some extent rich. Overall an average beer.

Bottle. Large semi-fizzy tan head with good retention, good amount of lacing, hazy orange brown body, and fizzy, fast rising carbonation. The mouthfeel was tingly and this beer is medium bodied. The aroma was malty, chocolate, sweet, and dark fruits. The flavor was sweet, thin tasting, malty, dark fruits, roasty, and a dry finish. Tingly mouthfeel and medium bodied. For a Porter, it was thin on flavor but still had a good flavor nonetheless.

11.2 oz bottle. Pours a hazy ox blood mohagany with a one finger tan head. The nose is sweet dark fruits, light chocolate and faint coffee. The taste is ashy cocoa, roasted malt and fruit. Medium bodied. Middle of the road porter and not worth the $4 price tag.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a hazy typically carbonated dark brown colored body and thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt. The thin mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a mellow aftertaste. The thin flavor contained notes of brown malt. An OK brew just nothing special except that this is my 3500th rating on this site.

(Bottle, In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 3 Aug 2009) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with dark fruit, prunes, raisins and dark bread. Roasted, malty taste with notes of dark bread, raisins and figs. Medium body, rather dry. Balanced roasty bitternes in the finish. On the shy side, leaning in the direction of schwarzbier rather than porter. Quite nice though.
