Mild smoke flavor, subtle but nice. Don’t get the porter, well, a little in the back maybe. Lacks a lot, but good enough.

33cl bottle Appearance: Adark brown beer, with a very tall head on top, light beige in colour .(A bit thin, but good retention) , Leaves ok lacing the glass. Aroma:Smoke (BBQ style), chocolate and roasted malts. Taste: Smoke, followed by light chocolate with a very small hint of sourness in the background, Aftertaste of coffee and smoke with a light bitterness.. It’s a bit thin, then again to strong smoked blows everything away. thin body, medium carbonation. After a poor Porter (allthough I still think I got a bad bottle.) and a so/so Smoked beer from this brewer, my expectations were very low for this one. However this is much better then expected and quite ok. I do hink the style description should be smoked as this dominates the taste.

Black transparent with beautiful red highlights and a big bubbly head. Meaty barbeque smell with subtle fruitiness. Dominated by a coal taste. Rotten fruit, metallic with some cumin and salt. Very subtle liquorice. Subtle barbeque smoke taste with metal. Watery with a very dry finish. Subtle sweetness again dominated by coal.

Bottle at home. Pours a dark brown with a fairly large white head. Some smokiness in the aroma, taste of roasted malts, chocolate bitter aftertaste.

Bottle 330 ml at home, poured into a snifter. ABV 7% Pours a quite brown beer, not totally black but certainly dark. A very tall head on top, light beige in colour and somewhat thin, collapses slowly but steadily. Good lacing left around the glass. Aroma is a nice combination of smoke and chocolate, along with some roasted malts, hints of alcohol and surprisingly, vanilla. Taste has much more smoke in it than the aroma indicated. Again chocolate, lighter now. Coffee and light bitterness on the aftertaste. Medium thin body, quite carbonated. Overall very good, I was afraid it would be all smoke but it’s nicely balanced, my only objection is the high carbonation.

Een aardige smoked porter, mist allen wat body. Ziet er wel mooi uit donker bruin met dikke schuimkraag, bezinksel en gist.

330ml bottle (shared by FatPhil, thanks). Pitch black color. Small size, brown head, stays. Roasted malts, sweet, milky notes in aroma. Salty roast and sweet notes in flavor at same time. Controversial, but still drinkable.

330ml bottle (Bacchanalia, Cambridge)
Massive salty blue cheese aroma. Touch pf smokiness much later, in a wooly. Opened with a work of foam. Slightly fizzy dark reddy brown. In the palate it’s a bit watery and fizzy, but really not saying 7% at all. Tastewise, it’s kinda mellow in the mouth, just a little roast and smokiness, pretty nice from that aspect. Negatives spoil it a bit too much which is a shame.
