3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 JorisPPattyn (7305) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAY 5, 2013
Good dense yellowish head over fully hazy, well-carbonated ochre beer. Bit of caramel, fresh malts, spiced bread, bit herbal, yet sweetish smelling - maybe some honey aroma. Bitter, very hoppy with spiced fruits and malts in the background. Citrus and crabapples. Serious hopload, hopoils. Gristslickness and yeast-filled; apparent prickly CO² on the tonguesides, long-lasting bitterness. Far from bad. Might benefit from a little more refinement, but it certainly shows ’karakter".

Bottle, 33cl, Deca. Pours hazy, golden/yellow. Plain nose, dull brew, bit too sweet, something cloying in it. Very typical.

(Bottled@HBF 2013) Hazy golden with a smallish head. Aroma of pale malt, some stuffy fruitiness, yeast. More fruit in the flavor, with sweetish yeastiness. Actually quite nice. Quite full body, soft CO2. Stuffy aroma was rescued by the nice flavor.

330ml bottle (HBF2013, Friday)
Simple light grainy aroma, Anna’s saying it’s even lagery in its balance. Quite mixed up taste, lots of esters, sweet and weird and quirky. Hops a bit fatty and take a while to build up. Nice milky finish. Finish is definitely the best part.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at HBF2013) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had Belgian style yeast and sweet fruitiness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, Belgian style yeast, grass, sweetness and btiterness. Afertaste was sweet and bitter. A good Belgian ale.

Draft? at the Leffe Café (don’t go there for any beer other than Leffe or the one other monthly beer they serve) The Klets beer is quite nice though. Hazy orange, white head. Served in a nice Klets-glass that somehow reminds me of a woman’s breast (I usually don’t have this with beer glasses, must have had something to do with me being a weekend out with the boys) Nice full-bodied blond with spices, yeast and some orange fruits dominating its taste. Some butter. Nice soft carbonation.
