This is one the more interesting beers I’ve had in a bit. Very wine like...complex. there is a presence of plums. I’m actually having a hard time picking this beer apart. Hints of chocolate & coffee. However I don’t get the vanilla typical of oak aging. I like it.

12 oz. bottle that states it is 1 pint 9.4 fl oz. Pours a clear brown color with a small off white head that doesn’t last and leaves spotty lace. The aroma and flavor have a big berry/pomegranate fruit character, oak, red wine/vinous character, some sweet malt though the barrel cuts quite a bit of it, the alcohol remains well hidden. Tasty stuff.

Shared with Wim at Bierpatrimonium 2014. Black colored beer with small off-white head and no carbonation visible. Sour hinted aroma. Medium sparkling palate. Finish is slight sour fruited dry. Nice one!

Bottle @ home from De Hopduvel, Gent…. It pours dark brown with a small bubbly tan head… vinous, sourish, fruity, vinegar, oak, anise…. nice ...

Zwart, beige kraag.

28/I/14 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - BB: n/a (2014-128) Thanks to Bene for doing the shopping!

Clear dark brown beer, irregular beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sourish, funky, reminds met of geuze, also some red wine, bit sweet, caramel, sour apples. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: pretty sour start, notes of red win, tannins, bit lemony, vinegar, geuze like flavours, bit hoppy, some mocha. Aftertaste: bitter tannins, hops, red wine, pretty sour, lots of geuze characteristics, sourish infected stuff, wood tannins, mocha, some dried fruits, but the sourness is overpowering most other flavours. I’d say the barrel ageing did no good to the beer...

33cl bottle. APPEARANCE: dark brown beer, small hard to get but stable head. NOSE: nice nose! Somewhat sour, wood, caramel, lactic, some burned malts. TASTE: somewhat sour, dry and anise (little) aftertaste, which makes this a less beer... Little sweet

Poured dark brown with an off white head. Aroma of sweetly sour berries over wood.. Full body, flavour of vinous alcohol, alcohol soaked sour dark fruit.
