COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Zwart & Straf Winterbier
Kleveretien: De tien slaat zowel op het alcoholgehalte als op het 10-jarig bestaan van onze bierproefclub "Orde van de zatte Mus". De ontwikkeling van dit bier is een zware bevalling geworden. In totaal hebben we acht proefbrouwsels gemaakt in onze hobbybrouwerij alvorens we pas echt tevreden konden zijn over het resultaat. Kleveretien is bijna zwart, maar heeft weinig tot niets van een stout. De smaak is overwegend kruidig met een toets van drop (steranijs), caramel en donker fruit. Op het einde komt de alcoholwarmte meer naar boven.

Bottle @ ZBF 2011: Almost black coloured. LIght brown head. ARoma of liqourice, sweetness, light roast and fruits. Flavour as well full of liqourice, fruits, herbs, caramel and some yeasrt. Medium to full bodied. Sweetish and spiced light roasted end.

From bottle at ZBF2011. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is annis seed and dark roasted malty. Sweet dark malty, spiced, toffee and liqourice. Lingering dry and slight spiced into a dry and bitter finish.

(bottle, 33cl) Dark brown, opaque colour with a brown and dense medium-sized foamy head. Sweet and slightly yeasty toast-malty aroma with notes of anise and dried fruits. Sweet-bitter flavour with a light tinge of sourness, full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Toast-malty, slightly fruity taste with present spicy notes, accompanied by notes of dark chocolate and liquorice; moderately sweet and bitter finish with rather strong spicy notes and a moderately alcoholic bite. (Bottle, 0.33 l - generously offered by fonefan, at the 16th Kerstbierfestival) The beer poured almost black. Its head was small and light brown. Aroma had malts and mildly roastedness. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, roastedness, liquorice, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste had liquorice and low bitterness. Tasty beer resembling more a stout that a Belgian strong ale.
