On tap at Het Waterhuis aan de Bierkant in Gent, Belgium. It poured a clear dark golden liquid with a pale beige head. Sweet and malty with booze. One-dimensional, low flavour but high on booze and with a light body. Didn’t quite work.

On tap at Thirsty Monk. Pours brown with a slight perfume to the nose. Lots of effervescence. Lots of flavor on the tongue. Watery finish.

Another brewed just for these guys. I sit at night on Gent’s lit canal. Smells sweet. Brown sugar and molasses. A thick sugar, plums, raisins, slight alcoholic smell, huge head in beginning disappears but a small head still remains some 20 mins later. Appearance is nice dark medium amber brown color. Clear and the color of cherry wood. Flavor is slightly booze at the back of the throat. Raisin taste. quite dry with molasses taste and some citrus notes left on back at the end. As it warms biscuit comes out in aroma and flavor.

1/08/2011 on tap @ Bierhuis aan de Waterkant (2011-359)

Bit cloudy amber to copper red coloured beer, very big creamy off-white head, not too stable, leaves nice lacing on the glass. Aroma: sweet alts, bit of mocha, some caramel, ripe fruits, touch of smoke. MF: light carbon, full body, pretty syrupy texture. Taste: malts, some caramel, alcohol is very noticeable, sweet candi sugar, hint of nuts. Aftertaste: caramel, citrus and hops and again lots of alcohol.

Weird. It’s like a quick perfume bomb then it’s gone. Reminds me of Sauvignon Blanc- it has a lot of fruity perfumey stuff going on, but it all blends so you’re just wondering... "what the heck was that?"

I’ve had this beer in the U.S at Theresa’s Other Side in Wayne, PA and at Het Waterhuis, Gent. I like it more than some of the other reviewers. Pours a dark copper color, somewhere between clear and hazy. Nice two finger off white head. Taste is strong at upfront and the alcohol comes through. It mellows as I drink it and a subtle sweetness appears. Limited bitterness. Pleasant on the palate. Soft carbonation. Finishes very smooth. I like it. Had it at home and in Gent en vat both places. Wish I could get it in the bottle for my home.

An alright strong beer from Gent. Enjoyable, though I’m not too overexcited about it.

Dark blonde beer with small head. Soury smell. Taste is slightly hoppy and citrus fruit like. Not very exciting.
