My Bottom Line :
Bready yeast, portentous alcohol, bubblegum phenols and honeyed sugars evolve in a lean mouthfeel, as banana esters and floral hops attempt to create complexity.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam covers the shiny pale amber.
-The body (and flavor profile) are obviously thinned out by loads of added sugar.
-That alcohol presence sure is brash, burning in the finish.
-The expansive carbonation helps to make this drinkable (for its size).
-Overall, the flavor profile is on the rough side, with expressive yeast by-products and roaming alcohol.
Bottle.
3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 shoulderbroken (357) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 20, 2011
Tap at the Waterhuis aan de Bierkant. Orange amber with big bubbly off-white head. Aroma is creamy, caramel, malty, quite sweet and very boozy. Taste is initially sweet and full on alcohol and then mellows into a malty finish. Bit of toffee apple in there further down the glass. Dangerously drinkable for such a strong beer.

On tap at Het Waterhuis aan de Bierkant in Gent, Belgium. It poured a clear dark golden liquid with a pale beige head. Sweet and malty with booze. One-dimensional, low flavour but high on booze and with a light body. Didn’t quite work.

Another brewed just for these guys. I sit at night on Gent’s lit canal. Smells sweet. Brown sugar and molasses. A thick sugar, plums, raisins, slight alcoholic smell, huge head in beginning disappears but a small head still remains some 20 mins later. Appearance is nice dark medium amber brown color. Clear and the color of cherry wood. Flavor is slightly booze at the back of the throat. Raisin taste. quite dry with molasses taste and some citrus notes left on back at the end. As it warms biscuit comes out in aroma and flavor.
