Mads Langtved (2246), København K, Denmark Jul 31, 2005 Updated: Nov 25, 2005Draught at the outskirts of the holy monastery. My very impression of this beer was, that it was metallic and unpleasant. After a coulpe of sips it goes away. Then the beer becomes hoppy and herbal. It is extremely complex with a big taste compared to the low ABV. Tastes and smells like brewmash. Great beer. [the bottled version is sour and infected] Dixen (1465), Copenhagen, Denmark Jul 23, 2005 Draft @ the brewpub. Hoppy nose, with heavy notes of unfermented brewmash, dark malts. Muddy brown body, medium off-white head. Flavor of caramel and brewmash, a bit thin. Hildigöltur (5051), København Ø, Denmark Jul 23, 2005 Draught at the abbey, Hazy brown coloured. Amazing aroma with loads of fresh hops, herbs and some spices. The first few sips are slightly metallic, but suddenly you cannot taste the metal any longer. Sweet, grainy and herbal flavour. Complex. I was very surprised when the Frau serving it told me that it was only 3.8-4.0%ABV.
