On tap at The Klosterbrau Brewpub, Bamberg. Black brown with tan head. Quite tarry on the nose, the body is fairly sweet and fruity with notes of plum and prunes. There is a slight sourness in the background but nothing too extreme. It’s ok.

Draft at the brewpub. Very roasty aroma and drinks almost with a bit of charcoal, which sounds worse than it is. If you’re in the mood for a toasty one, this is smooth and quite drinkable. (#4386, 12/2/2011)

Mungo (2471) - Southampton, Hampshire, ENGLAND - AUG 30, 2006
Draught @ Klosterbrau, Bamberg. Dark red. Some malty nutty caramel. Light earthy bitter flavours towards the end. Not bad but seems a bit thin. But as with a UK mild makes an oddly suitable thirst quencher in summer weather, if a bit strong for knocking back.
