omhper (10393), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 18, 2008 Bottled. Hazy golden, small head. Sweet and fruity, medium-full bodied with soft, dense mouthfeel. Very sugary, where sweetness completely takes over. Hops are hardly visible. Despite all the sugar alcohol comes through. More like an oversweetned Polish mocný than a doppebock. Miksu (1244), Jyväskylä, Finland Aug 1, 2008 0.5 l bottle. Hazy orange-gold color with lots of yeast flocs. Sweet, worty, honeyish, wheaty, bready and spicy aroma with tart fruitiness and hint of solvent. Sweet, spicy, herbal and tart fruity flavor with sharp alcohol. Bittersweet finish. Tastes like a belgian ale to me. Alcohol is too prominent. Dedollewaitor (1906), Odense, Denmark Jul 31, 2008 50cl bottle: Hazy gold with a nice hew & creamy white head. Aroma is sweet malty & sugary. Warmth from alcohol. Alcohol is too visible & is overpowering the malt. Papsoe (9980), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 27, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Slightly hazy golden with an off-white head. Clean and lightly sweet malt aroma. Quite full-bodied with plenty of sweet pale malts with some floral accents. Lightly bitter finish. One of the rare pale Doppelbocks. 190608 bager (2027), Copenhagen N, Denmark Jul 11, 2008 Bottled. Murky and yellow in colour with a large head. Quite sour and metallic with notes of bread and grass - feels very unclean.
