3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Matkroken Natland, Bergen. Pours a slightly hazy orange-hued golden body with a large creamy off-white head, looking pretty damn nice. Nose is nuts, caramel, biscuits and hints of grass, red fruits and hay. Taste is caramel, bread dough, grass, hints of biscuits, red fruits and straw. Medium body and soft to medium carbonation. A very smooth, balanced and tasty English bitter from Klostergården, who has yet to disappoint me. This one crushes most style competitors, English or not, in the Norwegian grocery store beer segment. Lovely.

2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Flaske 0,5l - gave fra Rune. Drukket i heimen som matøl 28 Nov 13. Mørk amber. Lavt skum som daler raskt. Litt uklar. Veldig lite aroma. En anelse frukt. Lite kullsyre. Smaken har et forsiktig maltpreg. Blir litt anonym - men ok til mat.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
One of five 500ml bottles as a beer gift after talking about early modern witchcraft. Golden-brown body and an off-white head leaving spotty lacing behind. Restrained aroma of earthy, caramel malts and dusty hops. Nuts, caramel together with herbal hops in the flavour profile. Smooth ending with subdued malty bitterness. Ok (hotel room, Levanger 20.11.2012).

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Shared 500 ml bottle at local tasting, rear labelled as Bitter #2. ABV is 4.5%. Brewed with pale and crystal malts. Hops are East Kent Goldings, Challenger and Willamette. Amber colour, moderate off-white head. Rather uninteresting aroma of stale jam and "dusty" hops. Sweet and malty flavour with caramel, too sweet for an English bitter, but not unpleasant. Some hops in the finish.
