COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Knee Deep’s Batch 138 India Pale Ale is brewed with three types of C hops and Simcoe, which gives this West Coast IPA an aroma that resembles a cat that has peed in a pine tree. Batch 138 finishes dry and crisp and is sure to leave you in hop euphoria.

Batch 138 poured a clear golden, sporting a creamy white head and smelling of pine resin and fruits. Cold at first, and bright; then warming, the citrus comes into play with a musky sweetness that seems to linger a while. The bitterness starts showing itself on the very back of my tongue and creeps forward, although never becomes overwhelming, but just lightly bready and boozy. It does seem a long a slightly bitter finish, but enjoyable, not uncomfortable at all. Easy to inhale, easy to drink and quite a nice experience. This brewery continues to make me smile…

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/14/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep gold color with a 2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, light caramel, biscuit, floral, grass, light pine, and floral earthiness. Damn nice aromas with bright citrus/topical hops and moderate bready malt balance; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate bready malt sweetness; with a crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is damn nice IPA. All around good complexity of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate bready malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.

On draft at Tap 25. It pours a bright clear gold color with a white head. The aroma has some nice tropical fruitiness with some pine and sweet mango. The flavor is fruity and floral with a spicy bitter finish. Lightly toasty malt lends nice support to the beer without distracting from the tasty hop profile. Really good and quaffable yet easy drinking as well. Well done.

UPDATED: APR 24, 2014 Excellent piney nose. Initial taste is a fresh pine note with a clear but manageable hop bite. Finishes with a smooth bready malt. One of the best single IPAs out there.

Pours a deep amber in color with creamy white head. Aroma is dank hops...some papaya and cat piss. Taste is pine and some bittering hops on the back end. A very well done dank bomb of hoppy goodness.

UPDATED: JUN 3, 2014 22 oz bomber. The beer pours to a yellow golden color with a medium white head. The aroma has a strong pine smell with some astringent & maybe cat pee. The taste has a strong bitter kick up front followed by a crisp pretty dry finish. Overall a good west coast IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
