COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Knee Deepís Batch 138 India Pale Ale is brewed with three types of C hops and Simcoe, which gives this West Coast IPA an aroma that resembles a cat that has peed in a pine tree. Batch 138 finishes dry and crisp and is sure to leave you in hop euphoria.

Just an incredible beer. The hop notes of the beer flower and bloom at the top of the lacy head. Crisp and smooth through the mouth feel as the beer doesn't linger. The hops are tart but not incredibly bitty.

Bottle courtesy of Andrew. Pours a deep clear amber red body with thin off white lacing. Aroma is light pine hop and a ton of malt character. This one seemed to have been a bit too old - flavors of stale bready malt dominate leaving little room for any hop profile. Would love to try this fresh though, as some of the other Knee Deep offerings have proven to be delicious.

Nephilium (1344) - Ohio, USA - JUL 30, 2014
Caramel and faint hop aroma, pours a clear light amber with a giant white head. Thereís more hop presence in the taste, with some pine and citrus coming through, and a long lingering bitter finish. Iím hoping this one may have been on the shelf for a while, and thatís why the hop aroma is lacking. Unfortunately, with no date on the bottle, I canít tell how old the beer is.

Very average IPA. Hazy brown color. 7.5% ABV, but at 9% their DIPA Hoptoligist is much superior in aroma, body and taste!

Batch 138 poured a clear golden, sporting a creamy white head and smelling of pine resin and fruits. Cold at first, and bright; then warming, the citrus comes into play with a musky sweetness that seems to linger a while. The bitterness starts showing itself on the very back of my tongue and creeps forward, although never becomes overwhelming, but just lightly bready and boozy. It does seem a long a slightly bitter finish, but enjoyable, not uncomfortable at all. Easy to inhale, easy to drink and quite a nice experience. This brewery continues to make me smileÖ

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 3/14/2014. Pours fairly crystal clear deep gold color with a 2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, light caramel, biscuit, floral, grass, light pine, and floral earthiness. Damn nice aromas with bright citrus/topical hops and moderate bready malt balance; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, floral, grass, light caramel, biscuit, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity of juicy citrus/tropical hops and moderate bready malt sweetness; with a crisp malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and moderately sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is damn nice IPA. All around good complexity of bright citrus/tropical hops and moderate bready malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.
