1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
I had the Simtra Triple IPA awhile back and it was fabulous! I thought this would be the same. WRONG! Crystal clear. No sediment at all....Suck! I will never buy another BELGO again! Unless it’s from Dieu de Ciel but I doubt they would even make one. If you make a beer like this it should be the best of both styles instead of the worst characteristics of each style. Some mild florals and caramel malt. The flavor is sweet and candy like with lime, citrus, caramel, florals, clove and a rather off putting phenolic and alcohol character that makes this a bit difficult to drink. Barely passable. This beer sucks!

27 sept 2013, bottle. Light gold, clear, occasional bubbles. Nose is golden syrup, pine hops, some sweet yeast. Med body and mildly fizzy. Grassy hops, cereal malt, mild bitter finish. Decent.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy copper brownish color lingering thin creamy head. aroma is Belgium yeast upfront and citrucy spicy notes with mild roasted malt. Taste follows the aroma with some lingering hop bitterness on the backend. Im not a Belgium yeast fan but this is very good.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 4/12/2013. Pours slightly hazy bright orange color with a 2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, orange zest, orange rind, lemon zest, tangerine, clove, pepper, bubblegum, honey, light banana, floral, pine, and yeast earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of hop and yeast notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, lemon zest, orange zest, tangerine, orange rind, clove, pepper, bubblegum, pine, floral, light honey, light banana, and yeast earthiness. Good amount of pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, citrus zest, clove, pepper, bubblegum, pine, floral, light honey, light banana, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of hop and yeast flavors; with a great spicy yeast ester and bitterness balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a crisp, sticky, and slightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent Belgian DIPA!. All around great balance and complexity of hop and yeast ester flavors; and very smooth to sip on. Really enjoyed this one.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a copper orange with a two finger off white head with excellent lacing. Aroma is of belgian yeast, citrus, pine, sweet malts, banana, pepper and cloves, spicy hops, and candied fruits. Taste is about the same as the aroma but as the light boozy notes which detracts from the beer. Has a medium body with a slightly watery mouthfeel and a dry, moderately bitter, slightly boozy, medium finish. Overall, a pretty good belgian DIPA that could do without some of its boozy notes.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22 oz. bomber fresh. It pours a dark orange color with a small off white head that lingers. The aroma is not what I expected. Lots of lime and candy sugar. Some mild florals and caramel malt. The flavor is sweet and candy like with lime, citrus, caramel, florals, clove and a rather off putting phenolic and alcohol character that makes this a bit difficult to drink. Barely passable as something that I would drink…. poured out about 6 ounces of the bomber. I was hoping for a drier, hoppier beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I’m starting early on IPA day!! Strong skunky, cat urine (in a good way if that’s possible) hop aroma from a crystal clear light gold body with a white head. Candied fruit and light bubblegum flavors hit first followed by sweet vanilla and caramel. The alcohol announces itself clearly but not overwhelmingly as do the flavoring hops which cling to the tongue with a light earthy/mushroomy flavor that balances nicely with the malt sweetness. The yeast does stand out as Belgian-ish and adds another nice component to this. Finishes dry and sweet with residual wood and vanilla flavors. Excellent, interesting DIPA. Happy IPA Day everyone!!
