On tap at Capitol Beer & Tap Room, Sacramento. Pours amber with a clinging off-white head and a citrus and banana aroma. There is a hearty caramel malt flavor with a dry bitter finish. There is an extra layer of yeast influence, as this is the standard Hoptologist recipe with the addition of Belgian yeast.

"Not really getting a whole lot of Belgian anything in this. The only noticeable difference is a drier body that actually takes away just a tiny bit from the regular Hoptologist. Very good, but no reason for this in their lineup."

Bottle: The aroma consists of tropical fruits, pineapple, candi sugar, and citrus/grapefruit. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a small soapy off-white head. There’s a good amount of thin webbing on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with tropical fruits, faint banana, and candi sugar. The finish has moderate spice, grapefruit, and a hint of lemon peel. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with a small white head that dissipates fairly quickly leaving a ring of foam and decent lacing. Aroma is an interesting mix of citrus, mango, belgian yeast, touch of funk. Flavor is about the same, light sweet, medium bitter, yeasty. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. In my opinion this one is too far on the "Belgian" side. The hop presence is limited to a single note "bitter" rather than the citrus/floral medli that you get from the regular hoptologist.
