Bottle dated 7/9/14 so a month old. Pour has a dark golden color with a covering of white head that retained well Aroma has juicy citra hops like they are candy coated, mild supporting malt, a touch of bitterness, and light alcohol. Mouth feel is full for a pale ale and coats well with strong carbonation. Flavor has some bitterness upfront, super juicy citra hops, mild resins, bitter citrus rind, pine touches, and a smooth finish. This does not hide the sharpness of the citra hops at all and there is some malt to support it though the hops are the center stage here. Being 7% and as crushing as this is on the hops it is hard for me to wrap myself around this being a pale ale though the site lists it as an ipa. I wish there was a bit of sweetness to cut into the hops and soften this up a bit because the sharpness and bitterness get intense.

Bottle and served in IPA tulip: Clean deep golden hue with an okay head and lace. Juicy melon, passionfruit, key lime and orange zest with a fair amount of rounded malt. Some dankness creeps in as it warms up. Not a lot of bitterness so I guess that is why it is not called an IPA. Like most single hopped beers it doesn’t have alot of depth.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with a fluffy white head that lasts through out the beer. Aroma has lots of earthy citrus, earthy grains and a bit of bread. Flavor has lots of bread and biscuit with a good amount of bitter citrus.

Bomber from Lucky’s Market. Deep orange pour. Aroma of fresh hop, citrus peel, grass. Tastes are toffee malt, biscuity, good citrus balance - grapefruit, orange peel. Moderately bitter in the finish. Medium palate. Well constructed.

Bottled. Slightly cloudy with medium carbonation. Toasted gold color. Aroma of wet grass, toasted biscuit and lemon rind, kind of lackluster. Juicy lemon and grapefruit flavors finish very clean, an easy tell to the single hop profile throughout. A simple beer. Mild sweetness lasting bitterness. Malt earthiness is restrained, I would definitely put this as a pale ale vs. IPA. Very tasty, but it makes me appreciate dry-hopping IPAs with multiple varieties that much more. I bet if you can get this super fresh, it’s amazing. This bottle seems to have fallen off.

Draft at brewery. Strong danky and tropical notes in the nose. Lots of citrus and pine. Pour is a clear orange, with a white head that laces well. Taste is danky and earthy with tropical notes. Very good beer!

Bottle: The aroma consists of citrus, tropical fruit, light grapefruit, and caramel. It pours a transparent copper with a three finger orange tinted off-white head that has great retention and leaves behind thick soapy rings on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with light-moderate caramel. Tropical fruits follow in the middle before giving way to light-moderate grapefruit and a touch of pine in the finish. It’s medium bodied with soft carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Overall, I think "Extra Pale Ale" is a pretty good deScription as opposed to the style label of IPA. There’s too much caramel maltiness for an IPA and the abv is too high for a Pale Ale. While I love citra hops, I’m surprised that the malty caramel flavors work for me here.

Slightly cloudy golden color with usual head and body. I like Citra hops, but appreciate the brewer’s skill in blending hops rather than sticking with a single variety.

On tap at Ridgewood (Raleigh) Pours a pale amber with little white head. True to its name, the aroma features a nice citrus component. Fresh and crisp flavor. I can picture camping out at the beach with a few of these and having a pretty nice day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
