The cousin of Simtra, but brewed with only Centennial and Chinook hops. Need we say more?

Bomber to snifter. Looks good; a transparent orange with off-white lacing. Impressive clarity for the abv. Smells and tastes hoppy, malty, and boozy. Average on the palate; a little hot. Still, an enjoyable beer.

22 ounce bottle. It just showed up at the store I buy most of my beer at, so I assume itís fresh enough. Served in a snifter, the beer pours a clear orange/amber color with about an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is mostly citrusy hops (tropical fruit, grapefruit, oranges), along with some pine hops and caramel malt. The taste is bitter and hoppy, with the pine/resiny hop flavor being the strongest. The citrusy (tropical fruit, grapefruit) hops get stronger as the beer warms, and there is caramel malt noticeable too, but I really pick up the bitter pine hops in this brew. The bitter finish lingers around for a long time. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís slick and a bit sticky with moderate carbonation. I like this brew a lot, definitely worth a try! $8.99 a bomber.

Bottle at La Cave ŗ Bulles, Paris; 11.3% ABV
Clear amber color, bright, small head. Strange feeling, the aroma of resiny hops is so strong that it becomes almost nutty (hazelnuts), and manure. Full bodied, with round mouthfeel and some flavor of crystal, but not thick or sticky, luckily; strong flavor, with powerful hopping, mostly resiny, piney, and very moderate fruitiness. Long and extreme final.
Overwhelming.

Bomber from Valley Farm. Pale amber in color. Pungent hop bitterness, along with a bit of a sweet aroma. Rich hop character up front. Malty and slick. Good spicy hopped finish. Some alcohol is noticeable. Tasty, but not as good as Simtra.

From a bottle at THE LOCAL Beer Bar in Eureka, CA. Pours a rich gold with a good sized beige head and light lacing. Nose a a very powerful citrus and pine. Medium plus body with resin mouthfeel. The flavor is light malts with a lot of taste mostly of pine and citrus hops. Good bitterness. The finish is long, dry, and bitter. This is a true hop monster. Loved it. .

Pours a dark amber lil white head, smells of toffee, Carmel and wild strawberries jam. Tastes like sweet hoppy resinous, fruity, with slight pine taste. Well balanced and pleases a hop head palate. Leaves you felling warm and fuzzy

Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Liquid appeared as a crisp and clean straw blonde color and was topped by a thick frothy topping of head that leaves behind a lot of lacing. Aroma is bold with a heaping serving of hops that suggest earthy notes of citrus sweet honey but at the same time also has a strong whiff of alcohol. The drink is chewy with hops yet supported well by a balanced malt profile. Flavor is substantially bitter, however, it isnít as bitter as I would have expected considering this was an Imperial IPA by Knee Deep. The only tastes I can detect are mild hints of sour grapefruit juice, pine, lemon zest, sage and chance of grainy barley malt. Drinks smooth and refined upon the palate all while being an affordable priced bottle.
