4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A - Pours a clear golden-orange with a finger of frothy off-white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some lacing.
S - Aroma is full of grapefruit, citrus, pine, and grassy hops with sweet caramel and biscuit malts and some booze.
T - Starts off with a mix of grapefruit, pineapple, tropical, and citrus hops, bitterness, and some sweet caramel malts. Through the middle, pine and grassy hops come through with some more resiny bitterness and some biscuit malts. The finish is a mix of grapefruit, tropical, and grassy hops, resiny bitterness, sweet caramel and biscuit malts, and some booze.
M - Full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry, bitter, and warming finish.
D - Very drinkable. Really nice big hop profile throughout with good bitterness and enough body to balance.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
650 ml bottle. Pours a translucent copper color with a small white head that has fair retention. The aroma is fairly mild with some faint pine and citrus. The taste is big on the pine and light on the citrus with a caramel malt backbone. The palate is medium with lively carbonation. The finish is long and dry. Overall: Nice DIPA, but not great.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
22 ounce bottle from Bel-Air in Woodland, CA. The aroma on this is milder than I would have expected. Donít get me wrong, there are plenty of fruity, mango hop aromas here, but NOTHING close to Simtra. There is also an underlying herbal and pine note. Not too much in the way of malt character. Transparent copper body with a medium creamy-colored head that is fairly rapidly dissipating. Starts with almost a metallic flavor, before this becomes a little sweet and chewy in the middle with hints of toffee. Becomes quite toasted after that. Finishes with some crazy resiny hop flavors and pretty dry, husky, long-lasting bitterness. Crazy hops. Impressed with the brewerís ability to balance these massive hops with the malts. A decent beer, but I most certainly prefer Simtra.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours light amber gold with a foamy beige head. Aroma is heavily citrus/pine. A little lightly roasted malt for backbone. Med+ body. Flavor is harsh resin/citrus hop over a hardly noticeable malt. The caramel does come out a bit after the hop seeps away. The hop is heavy NW burn. Likely the hoppiest beer ever out of Sacramento. The bar is raised!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap (listed at 11.3%). Pours with a crystal clear yellow hued body with a massive white head that lasts. Smells pretty good. Aromas are of stone fruit, tangerine, floral citrus, light pine and a decent amount of alcohol. Minimum dextrin malt. Flavors are warming, only a very light sticky malt presence. Alcohol, low bitterness, big fruity, citrusy and tropical fruit hop flavors. Medium carbonation and warming.
Apprehensive going into this as I anticipated a big, sticky, sweet mess; very nicely surprised by this one.

Kudos to dodgrblu for first to rate... From growler (about 5 days after fill) from the brewery. Aroma and flavor similar to Moylanís Hopsickle. Lots of hop variety in the nose and mouth. Palate attacks your mouth with bitter, floral, and citrus hop. Ok beer that will mess you up.

Was given this the day after first bottling. Pretty great 3xIPA. Really rich, dank hops in this. 11.5% ABV is hidden really well and the malt bill is subtle but present. Really great beer. Iíd love to try this side by side with the Simtra and even Pliny the Younger. I donít think itís far off from that territory.
