3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at La Cave à Bulles, Paris; 11.3% ABV
Clear amber color, bright, small head. Strange feeling, the aroma of resiny hops is so strong that it becomes almost nutty (hazelnuts), and manure. Full bodied, with round mouthfeel and some flavor of crystal, but not thick or sticky, luckily; strong flavor, with powerful hopping, mostly resiny, piney, and very moderate fruitiness. Long and extreme final.

3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
22oz bottle-shared by jtclockwork-aggressive pour gives a nice rice/foamy offwhite head-gold. A-tropical/perfumy, 2nd sweet lt/med malt-caramel. T-tropical/perfumy hops. Finish is cologne and long, then metallic. Stopped after 10oz so I wouldn’t drop the score further. 3.0

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours light amber gold with a foamy beige head. Aroma is heavily citrus/pine. A little lightly roasted malt for backbone. Med+ body. Flavor is harsh resin/citrus hop over a hardly noticeable malt. The caramel does come out a bit after the hop seeps away. The hop is heavy NW burn. Likely the hoppiest beer ever out of Sacramento. The bar is raised!

Bottle. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex westcoast hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very good beer.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a light amber with a white head. Fairly sweet in the nose, a bit of caramel, some toffee, moderate pine, and some citrus. Citrus is mostly tangerine with a light grapefruit. Kind of harsh on the palate. Pine, mild grapefruit, and some floral notes. Somewhat abrasive on the bitterness. Not as sweet on the palate as I expected, but some toffee and caramel notes. Just kind of meh.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap (listed at 11.3%). Pours with a crystal clear yellow hued body with a massive white head that lasts. Smells pretty good. Aromas are of stone fruit, tangerine, floral citrus, light pine and a decent amount of alcohol. Minimum dextrin malt. Flavors are warming, only a very light sticky malt presence. Alcohol, low bitterness, big fruity, citrusy and tropical fruit hop flavors. Medium carbonation and warming.
Apprehensive going into this as I anticipated a big, sticky, sweet mess; very nicely surprised by this one.
