The cousin of Simtra, but brewed with only Centennial and Chinook hops. Need we say more?

Poured yellow/orange golden from the bottle. Very strong citrus and floral aromas starting from the pour which I loved! I got a tangerine flavor with light sweets and a bold hop taste left on the palate. Be ready!

On tap at PreFunk Boise clear light Orange Amber with just a scant off white head. Decent tropical fruity hop flavors, clean and strong. Finishes well. The 11% is a bit surprising.

super amazing delicious beer. Highly recommended. I am not usually a fan of triple ipas. This one is far superior to most

Malty-resinous nose with some butterscotch and alcohol hotness. Bitter with a backbone of malty sweetness. Full creamy-oily body and a bitter finish. Lacks noble hop flavor and the complexity Iíd want to see in a beer of this strength. To be fair, this was bottled 9.7.14 and Iím drinking it 2.7.15, so some of the best hop flavor might have faded. Nevertheless, an enjoyable imperial IPA.

APPEARANCE - Clear orange with 1-finger head that dissipates. Light lacing. AROMA/SCENT - Hoppy, piney. Not sweet. TASTE - Hoppy, dry, ABV well-hidden. MOUTHFEEL/PALATE/TEXTURE - Pleasant, dry, a bit of carbonation. VALUE - Reasonable. OVERALL/DRINKABILITY - Great beer, almost chuggable.

Draft at Imbibe wine. Nose is mango and orange caramel candies. Lightly hazy gold with a medium off white head. Flavor is light sweetness and contrasting bitterness over the malty background.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 10/5/14

Aroma: The nose is resin/weed hops, some grapefruit as well, and some sweet caramel malts
Appearance: It pours a deep orange color with a small, bubbly off-white head and medium lace
Flavor: Tastes more grapefruit than resin, and sweet malt, hop bitterness is less strong than expected
Palate: It is fairly full bodied, has a stickiness to it, a little heat, and a somewhat dry finish
Overall Impression: I thought this was a solid IIPA, but not a great one. Tasted a little faded, Iím not sure how old this bottle was (purchased less than a week ago), but this one didnít seem extremely fresh. It is still pretty bitter, but I was expecting over-the-top / in-your-face hops. Still solid, but it sounded better than it tasted. Edit: The bitterness and booze come out as it warms to room temperature. Doesnít change my score. Thereís still something missing that keeps me from going onto the Higher 3s - Low 4s range.
