It’s a solid 4 but I can’t say I would personally hunt it down again. The hops are strong but the initial taste was a muddy malt on the front. As it warmed, it mellowed to a more tropical kick on the nose. Good but hot one of my faves.

22 oz bottle. Bottled 02/20/15. (El Cerrito Liquors) Corona, CA. Clear golden colour with a tiny off-white head. Orange, citrus, pine, strong bitterness and strong sweet maltiness in the aroma. This smells fresh. The flavour is strong... strong bitterness, piney, resiny and citrusy hops, sugary sweetness, syrup and mild maltiness. Strong indeed. Mild notes of 11.1% but well hidden I have to say. Not a bad one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It’s not often that these guys miss...beautiful 10 karat pour with a small ivory pour. Incredible tropical fruits, hint of dustiness, bit of pepper, and loads of citrus brightness. Yum!

Pours a hazy golden orange color with a white head. Grapefruit, mango, passion fruit, hop and resin aroma. Grapefruit, mango, passion fruit, tangerine, biscuit, resin and hop flavors. Medium full body and average carbonation. Citrus finish.

Citrus, pine, pineapple. Some malt. Quite bitter. Knee Deep makes a lot of IPA, not sure which is my favorite but this was pretty good.

A golden body with a white head. Strong pine and resin hops notes upfront. A nice blend of apricot and mango and a touch of citronella. Flavor had some Carmel malt sweetness to it. The rest was all hops. Strong pine notes and tropical fruit dominated the flavor. Slightly dry finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aromas of big fresh, wet hops, tangerine juice, apricot, massive pines, orange, pineapple, caramel malt, resinous hops and earth. Appearance is a clear gold copper with a thin white foam head. Taste is incredibly fresh and crisp with notes of caramel malt, harsh pines, harsh bitterness, harsh resin, harsh hop oils, orange, tangerine, biscuit malts, cracker malts, toasted malts, honey, grapefruit, citrus and lemon. Finishes dry with extremely piney and bitter hops. Aggressive boozy burn. Overall, this is a real treat. This beer has a really solid body to it but the hops just take the show. Such a piney, dank, resinous, oily hop forward beer. Would DEFINITELY buy again.

Draft at Moriartys. Clear gold pour with an off-white head that left some notable lace. Having immediately after the Hoptologist which feels very similar. This one also has huge floral, resin earthy notes. Less refined - but that?s not necessarily a bad thing.
