On tap at Haven Gastropub. Light amber sort of color with a white head. The nose is incredibly sweet. Sugar, caramel, and some pineapple. Decent orange and grapefruit on the nose. Pine and some booze, too. The flavor is nicely citrusy, but despite the grapefruit and orange notes, just too much caramel and brown sugar. Some bitterness and alcohol on the finish. Not bad as a barleywine, but wasn’t what I was expecting from a Double IPA.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours light amber with a white head. Aroma is fruity and citrus. Med body. Flavor is fruity and suddenly that citrus that is almost like pine. Lots and lots of hop. It’s a bit sweet, but there’s enough hop to solve that. Extremely tasty.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured copper color with a large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy west coast hop and fruit aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

Benzai (9913) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - OCT 4, 2014
Bottle [from trade with dap] @ home. Nice clear lightly orange mostly golden color, medium to full sized lightly creamy off-white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, hops, resin, pine. Just what I was hoping for and what I am looking for in a DIPA. Taste malts, loads of sticky resinous hops, pine, spruce, bitterness and a touch of grapefruit. Very very much of the sticky resinous piney bitterness indeed. Lingering hoppy resinous piney bitter. Medium to full body, medium carbonation, sticky texture. Oh yes, a full on incredibly tasty imperial IPA. Love it!

Dogbrick (9346) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 24, 2014
Clear pale amber color with a medium ivory white head that dissipates steadily. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Full-bodied with a resiny hops character and flavors of grapefruit and grainy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a lingering piney hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Tap at Salted Pig. Complete sheets of lace on a clear orange. Super sticky nose. Sweet IPA overall, but not cheesy and dusty. Butterscotch candy with pine needles. Heavy pine finish. Rich, mild nut and tannic dryness and harsh bitterness. Still drinkable.

mcberko (9205) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 5, 2014
22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of resinous hops, tropical fruits and caramel malt. Flavour is a huge barrage of hops on the palate but it is exceptionally well-balanced - loads of tropical fruits, resinous hops and pine, balanced with sweet caramel malts. This sure is hoppy but it has a fantastic malt backing. Fantastic stuff, as with all Knee Deep hop assaults.

rosenbergh (8411) - Tampere, FINLAND - APR 24, 2015
22 oz bottle. Bottled 02/20/15. (El Cerrito Liquors) Corona, CA. Clear golden colour with a tiny off-white head. Orange, citrus, pine, strong bitterness and strong sweet maltiness in the aroma. This smells fresh. The flavour is strong... strong bitterness, piney, resiny and citrusy hops, sugary sweetness, syrup and mild maltiness. Strong indeed. Mild notes of 11.1% but well hidden I have to say. Not a bad one. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
