3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
22oz bottle, thanks to alexsdad06 for sharing. Date on bottle reads 08/11/14. Clear orange color. Thin off-white head, dot or two of lace. Medium to bigger body. Feels lighter than 11%. Lighter carbonation. Kind of slick. Moderate sweet taste, some bigger bready malty caramel character, but great big amarillo hop to back it up, too. Piney, kind of spicy, mild citrus (orange peel), moderate bitter, less bitter than youíd expect. Alcohol hides very well, way too easy drinking, good sweet malt balance helps with that I think.

"Simtra may have some conpetition as KDís best beer, and that is saying something. Big. pungent aroma of hop oils...citrus and tropical fruit and a whole lot of cat peed on my christmas tree. not quite the enamel eater in the mouth as the nose would have you believe, but almost. fantastic hop headís delight."

22 oz bottle shared with the group. Pours a slightly hazy orange/dark golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have big earthy, herbal hops, moderate plus bitterness, caramel, toasted malts, good drinkability for 11.1%, I am always impressed by the Knee Deep hoppy beers.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: The aroma consists of heavy citrus hops, candied oranges, caramel, and a touch of pine and herbal notes. It pours a transparent copper with a one finger white head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a thick soapy ring. There is some thin soapy webbing left on the sides of the glass. The flavor starts with sweet citrus/orange and caramel. The finish has moderate pine, grapefruit, and some light toasty nights. Itís medium-full bodied with soft carbonation and a somewhat sticky mouthfeel. Overall, itís solid...but thereís too much caramel for my IIPA preferences.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On draft. Clear golden orange pour, with a white head. Lots of fresh juicy hops, grapefruit, pineapple, some mango, pine resin, sweet, notes of caramel, and a bit boozy. A little too sweet, not really bitter (a good thing), and nice hoppiness.
