Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours light amber with a white head. Aroma is fruity and citrus. Med body. Flavor is fruity and suddenly that citrus that is almost like pine. Lots and lots of hop. It’s a bit sweet, but there’s enough hop to solve that. Extremely tasty.

Kicking back on a gorgeous fall afternoon, and this is the perfect beer for it. Big and bold in all categories, rich and powerful. Tasty, smooth with a kick. Pleasant alcohol burn from start to finish.

22oz bottle, thanks to alexsdad06 for sharing. Date on bottle reads 08/11/14. Clear orange color. Thin off-white head, dot or two of lace. Medium to bigger body. Feels lighter than 11%. Lighter carbonation. Kind of slick. Moderate sweet taste, some bigger bready malty caramel character, but great big amarillo hop to back it up, too. Piney, kind of spicy, mild citrus (orange peel), moderate bitter, less bitter than you’d expect. Alcohol hides very well, way too easy drinking, good sweet malt balance helps with that I think.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured copper color with a large frothy white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy west coast hop and fruit aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

22 oz bottle shared with the group. Pours a slightly hazy orange/dark golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have big earthy, herbal hops, moderate plus bitterness, caramel, toasted malts, good drinkability for 11.1%, I am always impressed by the Knee Deep hoppy beers.

Such a huge heavy-hitter that could knock a normal person on their ass. Showcase of huge hop aroma with massive citrus flavors--pretty damn dry. This is a big-time beer that will blind side you if not ready. Serving Size: 22oz bottle.

22 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of resinous hops, tropical fruits and caramel malt. Flavour is a huge barrage of hops on the palate but it is exceptionally well-balanced - loads of tropical fruits, resinous hops and pine, balanced with sweet caramel malts. This sure is hoppy but it has a fantastic malt backing. Fantastic stuff, as with all Knee Deep hop assaults.

Bottle [from trade with dap] @ home. Nice clear lightly orange mostly golden color, medium to full sized lightly creamy off-white head that lasts for quite a while. Aroma is malts, hops, resin, pine. Just what I was hoping for and what I am looking for in a DIPA. Taste malts, loads of sticky resinous hops, pine, spruce, bitterness and a touch of grapefruit. Very very much of the sticky resinous piney bitterness indeed. Lingering hoppy resinous piney bitter. Medium to full body, medium carbonation, sticky texture. Oh yes, a full on incredibly tasty imperial IPA. Love it!

Golden orange clear pour from 22oz at home. Aroma is tropical, pears, lipstick. Taste is very hoppy tropical fruits that covers the high ABV nicely. Pretty enjoyable.

Bottle. Moderate grain for the malt, heavy pine and grapefruit for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with honey and dried apricot in the background. Head is small, frothy, white with slippery lacing and good legs, and is mostly diminishing.Color is light to medium clear amber. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, oily, with a lively carbonation and a lightly astringent and alcoholic finish. Nice grapefruit hop punch from this DIPA.
