4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Had at Brew’s best. I believe it was this version. This smells as great as the Ryedenitity Crisis smelled bad. This is actually great. Lots of hops, very tasty, a great balance of fresh floral hops, citrus and bitterness. Hard to believe how the two beers at the festival were so far apart in the tastiness spectrum.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft @ Clary’s in Reno. Pours a bright, clear orange color with an amber tinge; beautiful, fine-bubbled white head with great retention and lacing. Some (non-diacetyl) butterscotch aromatics next to a solid, sticky citrus and resiny pine hop aroma; a touch more balanced than hop-forward, but solid. Medium-full body; moderate CO2; no alcohol here; following the nose, lots of charismatic citrus and pine hop notes (very well-handled water, seemingly, as otherwise these tend to go badly), along with a malt character that sites somewhere between caramel and butterscotch; sticky, juicy hoppiness that’s just a touch distracted from (for me) by the prominent crystalline sugars. Would love to see this less malty, as the hop character is excellent. Lasting, bitter and dry finish with sticky citrus and pine.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I absolutely love this beer. The hop aroma to the taste makes it one of my favorites here in Reno. If you can find it, buy it!

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tasted at the Bistro IPA festival. Just getting to entering the rating now. It pours orange with a thin white head. Very malt forward aroma with mostly toffee. Mildly earthy hops in the finish. Not bad.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted at the Bistro’s 13th Annual IPA Fest 8/7/2010. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Medium to large sized white foamy head. The aroma is citrusy and fruity. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy. Nice balance. Medium to mild bitterness. Good carbonation. It’s a touch sweeter and less hoppy than most IPAs. Nice flavor, just not many hops. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
