Part of the MEPS series. An American Double India Pale Ale that packs a punch when it comes to hops. The aroma and flavors will give you citrus and pine with a slight malt sweetness that finishes dry.
Malts – a blend of Canadian, German, Chile and United Kingdom malts
Hops – Cascade, Citra, Columbus, Magnum and Hersbrucker

Bomber from Hayduke. We enjoyed a bottle together via facebook chat. This coppery hued beer had more clarity than I expected. It had yeast sediment on the bottom that came loose by rolling the bottle. An aroma of citrus, pine and caramel seems to be classic west coast IPA. There are a lot of hops tasted. Citrus and pine and both are big. Malt balances well and it is as complex as the hops. Pale malts, biscuits, caramel, and more. Somewhere in the middle I tasted metal but that faded. The alcohol was not tasted but was definitely there. This beer tried to do a lot, and it succeeded in doing most of it.

Bottle. Better than Pliny, if you believe the guy at Whole Foods. Pours a copper orange color with a light white head. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruit, peach and apricot. Medium mouthfeel. Fruity with a slight lingering bitterness. Alcohol is subdued. Overall, pretty tasty.

dark orange gold color. Grapefruit spice on the nose, some pine as well. Very easy drinking for this big of a beer. Backend bitterness but pleasant hop flavors all the way through. A solid double IPA

Bottle: The aroma consists of caramel, toffee, candi sugar, and aged citrus hops. It pours a transparent orange with a small soapy white head. The flavor starts with with moderate caramel and toffee. The finish has light aged citrus hops. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, obviously not fresh. I’d like to try a fresher sample.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2013 Man this one really stewed me up. IT is pretty tasty, big maltiness but enough hops and an interesting flavor.

Bold, fruity nose, berries & vanilla. Overwhelmingly bitter (at 108 IBUs), fruit still present but buried under the bitter pine flavour. A bit syrupy, but smooth mouthfeel.

Sampled on 5/12/2012. This Imperial India Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is floral, fruity and citrusy. A medium bodied double IPA. The malts are fruity and sweet, orange and pineapple. The hops are grapefruity and citrusy. Lots of sweetness. Lots of hops. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Bottle courtesy of "hannont". Colour...golden-amber with no head. Nose...dusty sugar glazed hops and candied grapefruit. Palate...dry and mildly bitter up front with hops leaning toward the citrusy side rather than the piney side, notes of Seville oranges and even hints of cotton candy toward the finish.
