3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thanks to peteinSD. THe pour is a bright hazy orange. The aroma if full of hops, citrus. The taste is very bitter upfront, fades, then comes back in the aftertaste. Gives you what you want from a iipa. Not my favorite, but gets the job done.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
In short: A brutally bitter, sugary sweet and boozy golden citrusy Double IPA. It is what it is.
How: Bottle 22oz, consumed probably fresh about 1 month after receiving it from oakbluff, thanks a lot Scott.
The look: Clear dark golden body toped by a medium off-white head that quickly dissipates to a ring of foam.
In long: Nose is resinous citrusy hops, a bit of alcohol heat and caramel. Taste is brutally aggressive, uber-sweet sugary malts, crunchy caramel and lots of residual sugars, alcohol apparent, bitter citrusy hops and then more bitter citrusy hops, this beer is a palate destroyer. Not a whole lot going on in the aromatic department but man did they go nuts with the bittering hops in this one. The beer is clean, very clean, but it is a bit too aggressive for its own good. I’m a hophead but not that type of hophead, this is just pure brutality. Obviously not complexity here, sugars, caramel, booze, bitterness. Sadly I must confess that I drank the full bottle, the first few sips were hostile but once the back of the mouth is numbed the beer becomes drinkable. I’m rating this beer on April 1, a good day to rate a beer, probably the worst day to have a real heart attack at work.

I had this beer at the SLO Xtreme beerfest. It pours a copper golden color with a white head. The head dissipates soon after the beer is poured. The bouquet is identical to sticking your nose into a bag of magnum hop flowers. Strong, resiny hop flavor from the start and throughout. Finishes with resiny bitterness and alcohol warmth. Not carbonated well enough, but since it was poured from an open bottle, it could’ve been a little flat.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Burnt orange in color... Aroma of citrus hops, toffee malts... Flavor is intensely bitter but nicely balanced by a firm caramel malt presence... Citrus hops on the finish... Tastes like a more dry, less sweet, DFH 90 min IPA... Delicious

Poured from a 22oz bomber. Pours a clear amber with little to no head. Smells of mango, citrus, sweet malt, and pine. Taste is quite bitter throughout the sip, with some citrus and tropical fruits and a slight maltiness. Body is good with a slightly sticky resinous finish. Not bad at all.
