3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, shared with my wife poolside in Escondido. Medium orangewith a thick lasting white head. Aroma is pungent hops, lots of pine, a little earthiness, a little citrus oil. Sweet candyish malts support a big load of hops on the palate, again pine dominates, with a earthy vegetal quality, some floral and citrus notes too. Heavy mouthfeel, oily and a little sticky. Long bitter finish. By far the best I’ve had from this brewery (in fact, two of the other three beers I’ve had from here were downright poor).

bottle at Dadtoberfest: Lots of hops on the nose along with grapefruit and pear. Sweet, caramel malts lightly fruity. Some hop resin on the finish. Well balanced.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
Solid DIPA. Big hop aromas and decent balance. Wanted a little more malt to round out the mouthfeel. These guys do good stuff but this isn’t on the same level as their Simtra which is sublime.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Picked up a 24oz bottle to enjoy on the train on the way up to a Giants game. Unfortunately drinking from the bottle, so I may not get the full effect, but this is a great DIPA. Very well balanced, nice hoppy bite. Smooth, and definitely more than sufficient for giving this Caltrain ride a special appeal.

A very interesting DIPA. The aroma is very light and floral. Taste is citrusy with a hint of tropical. Loving the huge bitterness at the end.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
A - Pours a fairly clear golden-orange color with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some nice lacing.
S - Aroma is a full of grapefruit, tropical, and pine hops with some sweet caramel and biscuit malts.
T - Starts off with a mix of grapefruit, orange, tropical, and citrus hops with some bitterness and sweet caramel malts. Through the middle, some pine and floral hops come through with more bitterness and some biscuit malts. The finish is a mix of pine and grapefruit hops with some sweet caramel and bready malts and some resiny bitterness.
M - Medium-plus bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a bitter and dry finish.
D - Very drinkable. Good strong hop profile with some nice bitterness throughout. Good overall malt and hop balance.
