Part of the MEPS series. An American Double India Pale Ale that packs a punch when it comes to hops. The aroma and flavors will give you citrus and pine with a slight malt sweetness that finishes dry.
Malts – a blend of Canadian, German, Chile and United Kingdom malts
Hops – Cascade, Citra, Columbus, Magnum and Hersbrucker

Really good west coast style IPA. Reminiscent of Pliny the Elder. Although, a bit more bitter. Just had one that was bottled less than a month ago. Awesome.

On tap @ Uncle Henry’s Deli. Hazed orange pour with a white head. Really pine and grass forward on the nose. Some sweet bready malt and biscuit. Quite resinous. Flavor is really quite bitter. Lots of pine, some grass, and a lot of orange peel. A bit of peach as well. Mild sweetness of bready malt.

Sample at SF Beer Week Opening Gala 2014. (my first one from this brewery) Dark amber with a medium white head. Aroma and taste of hops, grapefruit, pineapple and some hay. Also some light malt. The finish was dry and bitter.

Bottle. Caramel/copper colored pour with a healthy thick froth of off-white foam. Aroma is pleasant pine and bitterness over a relatively sweet malt backbone with some bready aspects and some lingering spice from the hops. Taste is a good mixture of pine and bitterness with bready sweet malt and caramel before lingering down into a slightly bitter finish. Coating mouthfeel (not dry IMHO). On the malt heavy side of the IIPA spectrum but all the components work well for me. Good beer.

Bottle. Pours gold/copper with a 2 finger white head. Aroma is lots of fresh citrus and pine. Tropical notes become more apparent as it warms. Taste follows suit and is intensely bitter. Sweet malt notes and some alcohol sting on the finish. Creamy mouthfeel, strong carbonation and dry finish. Hard to ask for more from a DIPA.

22 oz Bomber. The beer pours to a dark golden light amber color with a medium off white head. The aroma is strong with pine, citrus & grapefruit. The taste is medium in body with a slightly sweet upfront taste followed by a medium bitter finish that lingers shortly. Overall a very good DIPA. Would buy again.

Bomber bottle. Pours amber, white head. Aroma’s hops, towards the grapefruit side of the hop world. Taste is bitter and sweet, finish is nice. All around decent DIPA

Slightly darker amber color, moderate head, decent lace/retention. Aroma is grapefruit, citrus, some tropical fruit and caramel. Medium to full bodied, somewhat heavy bodied, moderate bitterness, somewhat sweet. Decent.
