Knee Deep’s 2 year Anniversary brew. The Imperial Tanilla was brewed with twice as many vanilla beans as its brother (Tanilla), which compliments this wonderfully balanced, yet full bodied brew with chocolate, vanilla and espresso flavors.

Bomber poured a clear dark brown with a small lingering tan head. Aromas of cocoa, vanilla, carmel, eartrhiness and light roastiness. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of roastiness, bakers cocoa, light vanilla and light earthiness with a smooth dry lingering bakers cocoa finish.

Bomber from BevMo Valencia. Nose is coffee, chocolate, and some vanilla with background hints of smoke and roast. Black with a medium, lightly lacing tan head. Flavor is coffee, milk chocolate, a slight bitterness, light sweetness, and a little vanilla. Body is barely medium thick and the finish is a bit of bitter chocolate.

Bottle and served in my 30 yo crystal stein: Pours a deep brown with a creamy tan head and left very good lace upon the stein. The aroma has notes of vanilla bean and vanilla extract, macadamia nuts, toasted bread, and a soapy off note. The taste while displaying a nice vanilla character is sort of lame with the rest of the base porter notes, some nutty and roasty tones with just a dash of piney hops and boozy undertones. The mouth feel is ashy and somewhat dry, brash alcohol upon the finish. The beer seems not have meshed well at all and is quite tepid outside the ABV. I would expect something like this from In-Bev/AB and not from an actual craft brewery.

Bottle. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate toasted sweet chocolate malt and vanilla aroma. Medium body with a creamy texture and flat carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. My expectations were met.

Black with a deep, beige, rocky head. Aroma is sweet malts, light roast, chocolate, molasses, vanilla bean. Full, slightly silky body. Flavor has lightly roasted malt, vanilla, light chocolate, slight booze, lightly nutty. Real powerful flavor. Quite fricken tasty.

Bomber to snifter (thanks tmoney99). Looks good; an opaque dark cola with beige lacing. Smells good; sweet, malt, and vanilla. Tastes solid; like it smells, but not as sweet and a little thin for 10%. Average on the palate. A solid beer.

Bomber from BevMo. Almost black in color. Just the slightest hint of light shows through. Nose is chocolate and coffee, with a little vanilla and sweetness. Roasty and sweet up front. A little vanilla. Some coffe and a bit of hops in the finish. A little alcohol as well. A little thin for a big beer.

Sample at GABF 10/11/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Brown-black pour with a medium tan head and strings of lacing. Aroma of malt and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of sweet malt, vanilla and milk chocolate. The finish is sweet with a vanilla/chocolate aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown with a thin creamy cap of tan.

Aroma: Vanilla, butterscotch and chocolate malt.

Taste: Butterscotch, brownie mix, burnt roast, a touch of alcohol.

Mouthfeel: Full bodied, rough carbonation.

Overall: I need to revisit this beer, I think there was something off with this, as my friends rave about this beer.

Dark brown, with a light tan head. Light roast, sweet malt, vanilla extract, and chocolate. Enjoyable, but simple.
