Knee Deep’s hit parade keeps on marching. This is far and away the best porter I’ve ever had. The vanilla gives an enticing counterpoint to the roasted malts, it’s thick and chewy without being overly heavy. It’s a big beast of a beer, but restrained enough for easy drinking. A must try for dark beer fans.

I wish all beer was made by people who love beer this much. The secret of this beer is that they only add just enough vanilla to compliment what would be a fine porter on it’s own. This may be my favorite porter of ever.

Bottle from South Bay Liquor: Created a thin layer of khaki colored foam while the liquid was a dark brown that was near being black. Aroma is sweet and sugary with scents of chocolate milk, vanilla ice cream or extract along with a light roasty smell in the faint background. The drink is smooth with a robust profile of dark and roast malts that makes this is heavier porter worthy of an Imperial title. Flavor does bring out a bit of sweetness with hints of vanilla while also giving off a little alcohol burn in the finish as if I took a swig of a bottle of vanilla extract. Good stuff for the price of $8 a bomber.
