COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pineapple Wheat - oh ya, this has been a fun beer to design… and DRINK.

Knee Deep in Surf is lightly hopped and fermented with pineapple juice for a crisp and highly refreshing filtered wheat ale. Brewed with German wheat and barley and hopped with Mt. Hood and Tettanger.

Another great beer by Knee Deep. Aroma has a slight wheat smell with a hint of pineapple. Has a white wine finsh to it. Very interesting.

Sampled on 2/28/2012. This fruit beer pours a light orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, sweet, pineapple and spicy. A medium to light bodied fruit beer. The malts are cereal, wheaty and sweet. With a very semi-sweet, semi-tart pineapple flavor. The hops are herbal and spicy. Decent carbonation. Interesting beer. The pineapple flavors bring a tartness and sweetness to the wheat beer. The pineapple flavor is much more evident in the finish. Gives the beer a nice dry, slightly tart finish. Its more saison or wheat like than wheat like. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean, crisp and dry. Aftertaste is slightly tart.

22 oz bottle. It pours a very nice clear golden yellow with a decent white head. The aroma has a nice balance of fresh wheat, pineapple and honeydew. The flavor is refreshingly tart with some mouthwatering pineapple and a good bready wheat base. Almost a tad spicy with really nice wheat malt and mild hop in the finish. There’s some mild fruity tartness and almost a pinot grigio like character to this beer. I was skeptical with this concept especially since I haven’t had much luck with bottles from this brewer, but this was a resounding success. One of the best fruit/wheat beers I’ve had.

22 ounce bottle purchased at Corti Brothers in Sacramento. The aroma is mostly bready and cereal-like with maltiness. A little lemon zest is also appreciated. Scantly metallic. Minimal pineapple. Transparent golden body with a smallish white head present. Starts immediately tart ans astringent. The pineapple flavors come through, which actually gives this a nice little sour kick to it. Finishes with a balancing cereal maltiness that is a bit sweet. Refreshing, and good. The aroma is pretty faint, unfortunately.

Bottle from Total Wine, Roseville. Pours cloudy yellow with a nice white head and a fruity aroma. There is a slightly tart wheat flavor with a noticeable pineapple taste. Not bad for a fruit beer.

Shared with Strykzone on Facebook Chat. This wheat/fruit beer pours a very clear light orange color with a big white head and almost no lacing. The nose is wheat with some pineapple and just a hint of floral hops. Medium plus in body it has that sticky wheat character in the mouth. The flavor is mostly wheat with a reasonable amount of pineapple. The pineapple is even more pronounced in the finish which also shows a dry tartness. This a better than average fruit beer and really easy drinking. A perfect summer beer.

Bomber from Corti Bros. in Sacramento, CA. Pours lightish gold with a transient fizzy white head. Aroma is wheat with a little hard to distinguish fruit. A bit acidic. Med body with foamy carb. The flavor is wheat, with a little pineapple, then it finishes with a huge burst of that acidic pineapple finish - which lingers on. Oddly the flavor is in the finish rather than the beginning. Interesting stuff. Hop seems lost in the surf. Finishes pretty dry, acidic and astringent. The effect is not unlike having eaten fresh, not quite ripe pineapple. Pool drink!

Bottle from Total Wine for $1.99. This was a pretty damn good little beer. Aroma was wheat, an flavor was a fizzy tropical wheat beer with unique but effective palate. Not a big beer, but I would definitely buy more at this price. It's cheaper than a liter bottle of soda at 7-11. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
