Thanks to Dodgrblu for bringing the growler for Thanksgiving! Aroma and flavor of stale, grassy hops, some body and the maltiest I've had from Knee Deep. Unfortunately, I'm still not a fan. Ok beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
In short: A corpulent resinous fruity red ale. Good nourishing hoppy beer.
How: Bottle 22oz, consumed fresh a few weeks after purchase.
The look: Clear copper body topped by a persistent small beige head.
In long: Nose is resinous hops over rich caramelized cereals. Taste is as malty as it is hoppy. In mouth the beer has a nice full body creamy mouthfeel with a generous carbonation. Taste is nourishing. Red berries covered with caramel, cherry wood, breakfast fruit jam, red meat, resinous fruity hops, resinous wooden hops. Bitterness of medium intensity. A certain astringency reminiscent of chewing on a sheet of paper. A good beer despite the awkward red-meat flavor, something that I often get from those so-called Red Ale. I used to think that beer was the one thing I consumed in excess quantity but then I read the recommended serving size on my jumbo size potato chips bags and now my beer consumption doesn’t seem so bad.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
When I was young my mother told me there would be an ale that gave me a sudden vision of clarity, a breathtaking outlook of clarity and suddenly the world would make sense when I supped such an ale.
This wasn’t the ale she meant. In fact, it is hard to envisage which ale she meant as I was only seven at the time and now I am 35.
If my mother could be burnt at the stake as some sort of seer, she would have espoused that the ale I have in front of me was red like a red thing and a cream coloured head with a slight greenish tinge. There must be hops here somewhere.. A snort from the nose reveals amber resinous hops with niffs of resin, spruce, herbal grassiness and a good lungful of apricot, nectarine, dehydrated peaches and biscuits. A taste suggests that and an up-front fruity-tartness that reverts into bitter astringency of unripe apricots and a mouthful of flavour, which makes me think that I’m not sorry I had this beer at all.
So there you go. A champ in my book.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle:   Deep amber, moderate foamy sandy head, nice lacing.   Pithy and bready nose.   Slightly toasted malts, dull caramel, and stale tea leaves as well.   Moderate malty background, light citrus aspects, strong tea leaves.   Seems a little dusty too.   Not too sharp, rather dull actually.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Toasted malt finish, slight biscuit, pale citrus peel, with some tea leaves.   Seems to be a very moderate example of an Imperial Red, either that or its been around for too long.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours dark reddish brown with thick fluffy off-white head. Aroma is juicy citrus hops with some sweet maltiness. Taste is sweet caramel malt upfront with some floral hops in the follow through. Aftertaste is lingering slightly bitter citrus and spruce hops. Palate is thin and somewhat sticky. Overall nice balance and good take on Imperial Red style.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
22oz bottle in a tulip. Pours deep ruby/copper with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of citrusy and resinous hops plus a good amount of caramel and cereal malts plus hints of rye. Flavor the same with a strong hoppiness and lot of malts. Average texture. A decent beer.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber purchased at Select Beer Store in Redondo Beach while waiting for the 405 traffic to clear up after a business trip to Los Angeles. Pours a deep red / brown / auburn hue with one finger of off-white / greyish foam. Aroma somewhat weak with notes of mellow citrus, pine, and some sweet toffee. Flavor has significant hops (pine sap, sweet grapefruit) along with some spicy rye. The flavor also has more dark malty notes (chewy honey caramel and roasted nuts) than usual for this imperial red style, something that works well here. Finishes with moderate business and well-concealed alcohol. Nice version of this style. (30, 803)

22 fl oz / 650ml bottle into a mug. Served cold.
Aroma: Strong, strong hops. Pretty piney. Moderate maltiness to balance it out. Spicy maybe? Really nice!
Appearance: Transparent dark amber body, fluffy, light tan head.
Taste: Strong hop profile. Piney, again. Moderate malt presence. A really nice balance. I got a weird, off flavor, though. It was kind of plastic-y? I’m not sure how to describe it. Didn’t distract too much. It was just an odd aftertaste.
Palate: Long, bitter hop finish. Warms.
Overall: Quite nice! I really liked the balance found in this one.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber from Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. This pours dark brown and has a tan head of about a finger. Big hops and malts in the aroma. They are all over the place. A huge bitter blast to my taste buds makes finding subtlety almost impossible. Hops are viciously bitter here. Rye is tasted and malts are big but those hops are lethal. Did you ever see the statue of the two Greek wrestlers and one of them has the other by the penis? Well, this one has me by the dick.
